My little brother hates sports, but way back in the 90s I could get him to play NFL QB Club '98 because after the plays we could team up and completely destroy some guy just standing around, he loved it lol

He didn't care about the game, on offense he'd be a TE or FB just to lay someone out, you have no idea how cool it is to play a co-op game with someone that just wants to block

NFL Gameday is responsible for the one moment in video games when I cried.

Playing NFL Gameday 98, my friend, playing as the Giants, fractured a vertebra in Emmitt Smith's neck during an attempted goal line pile flip.

Yes, I cried. Yes, it was traumatic. No, I haven't forgiven him.

It's mostly nostalgia, but I miss the days of being a kid and having 989 Sports.

Weren't they eventually absorbed by Sony ?

Gamebreaker and Gameday were both my ****. I got my first console of my own (PS1) and Gameday 98 at the same time on Christmas and was in love.

I can still hear the intro in my head and the bone crushing hits. I've posted that video at least 5 times on here.

Man, my favorite intro has to be Sega's. Something about the "Seeeeeegggggaaaa" at the beginning of their games.

I remember that Christmas morning better than any other Christmas, gameday 98 consumed my life. The problem that morning was my parents didn't know it didn't come with any games so I played that demo disk about 100 times

I was pretty jelly of my friends who got a N64 and goldeneye.

First-person view running in NFL 2k5.

I loved 2K5 at the time. I'm sure today, like most yearly sport titles, it can't stack up, but man I loved playing that game. It was probably the last time I felt compelled to play a sports game because of the gameplay.

Still, though, it wasn't no NFL Street.

First person football was so mind blowing to me. I had a lot of fun with it.

Anyone else keep their baseball, football, and basketball cards in giant boxes as a little kid? I found two boxes of miscellaneous cards, spent some time and went through them.

Yes. I didn't have it myself, but my cousin did and whenever we'd go over there we'd play a few games. I abused FBs in the flat on pass plays. Got me a good 15 yards every time.

Man I miss Wing Commander 4. I remember my friends came over and saw this and thought I was watching a movie. I said nope, it is a game, the ENTIRE GAME plays like this with real people. The only time you don't see real people is when you are out flying in a fighter jet.
