Re: Ebola
**** this chick for flying around when she knew she was sick.
Despicable.
The mess isn't going away soon. It's just beginning.Comment

Re: Ebola
I just wonder if Duncan had immediately been sent to Emory, Omaha, Maryland or Montana, then maybe none of this (two healthcare workers, that we know of, plus the 132 people on the flight and whoever else infected/potentially infected) would have happened.
For her sake, she better hope that the report saying Ebola can't be spread if there are no symptoms yet is true.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

She had a fever!
How does a medical worker who was treading an ebola patient KNOWINGLY go on a ****ing commuter airline with a fever? That's criminal levels of negligence.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 10-15-2014, 04:09 PM.Comment

Because she had helped care for Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, and because another health worker who cared for Duncan had been diagnosed with Ebola, the worker was not allowed to travel on a commercial plane with other people, said Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
That is exactly the kind of crap right there that could turn a manageable situation into something far worse than what was necessary.
Pathetic.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: Ebola
I'm going to Dallas in a month and we have family members saying we should not go. This blows my mind, I understand concern but we have deadly viruses and other "death traps" all around us. What are you supposed to do, not live your life. I mean look at AIDs its transmitted in much the same way yet you don't see people freaking out they are going to get aids at every corner they turn. Hell why are people not freaking out if mosquitoes could transmit it, ex. It bite infected person, then flew and bite someone else. Everything says that can't happen, yet it is also said it can't be transmitted via the air and we know how many skeptics there are on that subject.
I don't know maybe I'm naive, but I am around deadly dangers enough if I was to worry about every little thing I would be locked up in my house like a slave fearful of everything. I mean, I kayak with gators, do electrical work on my house, hunt with a deadly weapon (guns), and dare I say it DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY!
I understand the precautions that are needed to contain it, I just think it is wasted energy worrying about it. Either you get it or you don't, its basically out of your control. You can go live your life or walk around in a bubble scared of everything, I'm just choosing the former, at least until we are talking a real walking dead type of outbreak.Comment

Re: Ebola
I like that someone with the username "Phobia" posted that, lol.
That said, you can get ebola FAR easier than you can get AIDS. Not even close to a good comparison there, man.Comment

I'm going to Cincinnati on Friday. It couldn't have been any other state?
But yeah, it is what it is. I'm not planning a vacation to Dallas, but I'm not canceling my trip to Cincy either.
The nurse probably gets sick a lot working in a hospital around sick people. But you would think with this thing going around that you would think twice and take the extra precaution just in case.
It's definitely sloppiness or disregard like that that will make this bigger then it should be.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Ebola
I'm not positive of all the transmission manners but I know bodily fluids and blood. Nothing to prevent a guy with aids from running into a bathroom with a bleeding wound and get some on the faucet handle, you not notice and come behind him to use the sink. Then later put your hands in your mouth or something. I don't know could be way off base.
I mean this is all just coming randomly out my head and maybe AIDS is not a great comparison, but my general point is people are worrying more so about this ebola outbreak maybe just based on the name but I think there are far more worries that people encounter day in and day out but they are not freaking out about them. I blame the media for most of it more so than the people.Comment

Re: Ebola
Nah. People are freaking about about ebola because it's a disease that never existed in America before and one that has a high mortality rate. It can be transferred by bodily fluids (at the very least) including blood, vomit, semen, sweat, tears, saliva, or sneezing/coughing droplets.Comment

This seems to get worse by the minute. Her Ebola was more advance than the first patient. Also, the Nursing Union is pushing back against inadequate procedures! This is crazy.Last edited by mike24forever; 10-15-2014, 06:31 PM.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment
