Re: Christmas 2014
Regarding burnt out light strands. A couple years ago, I bought this Christmas light looking gun. It was used to track the actual burnt out light and replace it. Every single time, that thing found the correct light either on the tree or outside lights and once replaced, it worked. Quite honestly the best $10 I have ever spent especially around the holidays.Comment

Guess it was $20. Still well worth it.

Re: Christmas 2014
I bought that light gun last year. I couldn't find the bad bulb on a pre-lit, but with the wires going every which way on those things, I'm sure it was user error. I've had success with free strands that I've tried.
Totally worth the gamble at $20.Comment

Re: Christmas 2014
Started on my lights and deco's today!
A Thanksgiving storm delayed me and is making a little difficult(8-10 inches of snow!) to work but I'll get there.
Pictures when completed!
I love the Christmas season.
Everything about it...even the nutty shoppers.

Re: Christmas 2014
Agreed on this. The outside lights was pretty easy to fix. Pre-lit trees took a little longer. I would have to say the extra time spent finding the burnt out bulb was better than throwing the tree away and buying a new one.

Re: Christmas 2014
I found an unlit tree with all individual branches (not the three-piece thing everyone does now) at Kmart for about $40 a month ago. I have enough extra lights that I'm all set there. Worth the money to buy a new tree and just replace the lights if anything ever goes out.
And since it's nice out today, I'm going to get back to decorating!Comment

Re: Christmas 2014
Put up all of my outside decorations and lights today. Took me damn near all day. Forgot how I had things plugged in from last year so it took me a little longer than normal. I usually do the same set up every year but added a couple new things this year. The icicle lights on my high roof above the window, the candy cane lights on my walkway, and the inflatable Snoopy and Woodstock on my porch. I love decorating for Christmas. Haven't put the tree up yet. Want to get my carpets cleaned before I do.

Re: Christmas 2014
True words here. We were at a party recently and my daughter was on the thing for 3 straight hours. Meanwhile, I was done far earlier. Easy Santa gift for her.

@Mike24Forever
Nothing wrong with talking about one of my favorite holidays.
I love it not for the commercialized stuff, but for almost one whole month people are truly more kind, giving, and patient. Even crime rates decrease for that period.
This year gift list is short, but all thoughtful:
Wife: I'm building her a treadmill desk
Daughter (2 years old): educational toys and instruments
Niece: Patriots cap
Nephew 1 & 2: videogames of choice, most likely COD and GTA V
Gift to self: FIFA 15 & Metro Redux, Santa delivered this on Saturday and said I can playComment
