 Re: Off Topic 2015

How much do you guys usually give when you're attending a wedding? Got a few coming up this year. The one in a couple weeks is the brother of one of our core six friends who we've hung out with at their house for years, then a very close female friend in July, then I'm in the wedding party for one of the core six in November.

GF wouldn't be coming with me. I'm not exactly rolling in the dough here but I was thinking $100 for the friend's bro, then $200 each for female friend and wedding party friend? Maybe a bit more for wedding party friend even though I'll already be doing bachelor party **** and all the other costs of being in the wedding party?

 Gah. Weddings suck.Comment

I think it depends, last couple weddings I went to where for cousins I'm not close with, I give $120. I think the extra $20 just sets you apart from the pack of people giving $100. Who really cares though, they should be happy you covered the cost of your seat

That's perfect, that's what I usually do. For my sister I gave more, I gave 300 and 100 during the money dance. How much do you guys usually give when you're attending a wedding? It's hard to say. The entire experience is just a blast. I do like betting on horses and learned to read the race form so at least I'm just not making random guesses and it's just a fun event to go to.

That said, I totally understand those that have no need for it and don't enjoy it or even those that don't get why anyone would like it.

I was in that camp myself until I went to my first race.

Not really as of yet. My brother works at the track and hasn't had any major issues getting to and from work.Comment
