I think anything over $15 for hdmi cable is too much.

Whatever you do,dont ask employees in store about it. I had one time where i was buying a tv,and the employee there kept following me and pushing a $50 hdmi cable. I said no,but then he started getting rude being like "you're wasting your money on a tv if you're not getting this cable. What kind of quality will you even get at home without it? If you want horrible quality then its your fault for not getting it".

So basically, know what you want beforehand, cause if they see you buying a cable, they'll start trying to pressure you into paying like 5 times as much when you dont need to.

More expensive ones might be slightly better,but not detectable by the eye,and boxes dont support quality that high yet

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I'll check the local hardware store before I hit either GameStop or BB (exactly where I expect overpriced cables to be). Wish the little RadioShack didn't close down as that was my go to for electronics when I didn't feel like going out to BB.

Doc, that story is exactly why I asked. I pretty much knew the difference between a $5 and a $50 was minimal, or at least not big enough to warrant the extra $45 it would take. Just one of those things where they can dress it up and sell it for 5 times as much because people who don't know tech really don't know it. I have a general knowledge, enough to know I wasn't trying to spend that much on one.

For a 6 ft hdmi $5 is my max.

Mines too. I haven't bough a cable from a physical store in over a decade. Once I found Amazon and Monoprice and saw their cables for $3 to $5 that was a wrap for me.

I bought 10 of these and they are fantastic and got them in a day from amazon and they feel like monster cables. They are built very well.

This is absolutely false. There is literally no difference.

The only difference between HDMI cables was the bandwidth that they could handle. Anything labeled as "high speed" has the ability to do 4k at 60 fps.

HDMI is a digital signal, so it is all or nothing.

There are some reasons to get the more expensive cables (length, durability, some cords do the upscale to 4K) but if you just need a basic bitch HDMI go as cheap as you want. You might get a dud of a cord, but just return it for one that works.

monoprice.com is where I get all my cables. Extremely cheap.

Also has anyone ever went back and looked at your earlier posts? I just did and geesh, I give myself a headache trying to read them.

I used to use no punctuation and when a sentence ended I used ..... to divide my sentence up.

Example: hi whats up......I havent said that tho......well we will c.... (Shoots past self)
