I don't know how that's not good. Sony didn't do anything wrong. Of course when I think of things that are secure, PSN isn't one of the things that comes to mind.

Remember in Traitor when they communicated by saving e-mail drafts so multiple people could log in and read them?

I wonder how often movies inspire these guys as well.

I don't know how that's not good. Sony didn't do anything wrong. Of course when I think of things that are secure, PSN isn't one of the things that comes to mind.

Not good because it's a legit concern on how these guys can communicate without being traced.

The fact that it has to do with gaming and the attention it's going to bring is miles down on the list, considering the horrible acts committed this weekend.

This is one of my worries about all the crime/terrorism-related shows/movies that keep popping up. Who knows what kind of psychopaths/sociopaths could be out there who might just want to emulate when they see in those shows.

I'm not very politically keen on what France wants to happen next, so please disregard my ignorance when I ask these few questions:

Would France fear escalation/retaliation as a result of this, or the opposite (where they would now "go away")? I guess that's what we call war, right? Is ISIS in possession of aircrafts where they can do the same thing?

Also, was anybody killed in these bombings?

On the whole PS4 and them being able to talk without being traced...

Lots of interesting articles on governments wanting a way in, in regards to encryption. Things like Tor are in the spotlight now, even more so than when The Silk Road got busted.

Yea, almost makes it seem like the attacks in France were retaliation for what France was already doing. This may be the start of something more, but it's still ISIS. It's a group of people that may have some resources, but not near the resources of a group of countries let alone a single country. They won't amount much of a defense, but the problem is you won't find them all, so you can never really win... sort of like the US found out.

ISIS really doesn't have political goals and retaliation isn't their gig. ISIS believes they have a Caliphate and Armageddon is a big part of their dogma.
They want to draw us into a final battle that was prophesied in the Koran.

We're kind of in a catch 22. ISIS gets their legitimacy for a Caliphate from the land they control in Syria and Iraq. The only way to end the momentum is to invade and remove their claim for the land they currently control....BUT by invading you sow seeds of further terrorism (probably more in line with the likes of Al-Qaeda.)

It's a tough situation for sure.
