118 dead and counting, although "dozens" of hostages are reportedly safe and sound now.

This is my biggest fear, something like this happening during the super bowl or the world series here. It could happen. Cowards, nothing but ****ing cowards.

Very sad for Paris. I was just in Paris at this same time in 2010 and I was in London a month before the attacks there too.

Had BBC World on, horrific details from the Concert Hall and the attacks in general. Amazed at the story of the people who got out of the Concert Hall through the roof, only to have a guy next door help them into his attic.

Wow just now reading about this. (was at work all day and don't usually check my phone for this kind of news)

Seems like these were very coordinated, tactical attacks. Is this believed to be the work of ISIS? Not a lot of info regarding the attackers.

Really how do you prevent something like this? Expecting security measures in major cities around the world to be on heightened alert after today.

No one has claimed responsibility thus far. In the past I would say that ISIS is not coordinated enough to do this, but recently I'm not sure who the top players in global terrorism are, but I do know that this was highly coordinated and the fact that there wasn't much in the way of chatter on this is a scary thing. No one saw this coming overtly or covertly within the NATO countries that are partners in counter terror ops.

The showing of solidarity across our nation and our world is one of the few bright spots to come of this nightmare. Many buildings displaying the bleu, blanc, et rouge last night and I hope they continue to do so.

I hate that it takes an atrocity like this to bring PEOPLE together, but it shows that the good guys outnumber the bad guys by a considerable margin. We're able to put aside our stupid differences and recognize that there's a greater cause.

The evil doers think they won a battle today. They don't understand they have woken a multinational giant that will increase their already large tactical advantage and with the hurt of this event, not hold back when the time is right. True, by all accounts it sounds like the villains slipped this one through. There will be no more leaks. And their end is nigh.

I hope your right, but it shouldn't take atrocities like this to realize isis needs to be wiped off the face of the map. Ankara, Beirut, Paris, they may have been responsible for the Airliner going down in Russia too, do we have to have multiple fatalities, to realize that isis has no place in this world.

Finally heard from a friend last night who posted this photo a couple hours before the attacks.

He was shot in the leg, will be OK.

As a news junkie this stuff is almost fascinating to me, hard to explain. It's more surreal than real with it an ocean away. Knowing someone actually hurt though (and hoping for a period of time they were OK with no idea) it was a lot harder to process and accept everything that was happening.

Wow, he must be very lucky. That's great that he's ok. My neighbor is studying abroad in Paris and is staying about three miles from there. Can't even imagine being in the middle of something like that.

I know news stations want to be getting every piece of info and finding out reactions from people about these events going on,but at least be smart about it.

Saw a clip from CNN where one of the reporters flat out asked one of the kids(I think he was 12) who was in the concert hall,if he saw a dead body(before last night). What relevance does that have to do to anything? I'm sure it's traumatizing enough, asking stuff like that on national tv to someone already so shaken up?

And stations interviewing people back home who are reacting to the news, and doing special events and stuff in the public, they choose to interview abunch of (probably 10 year old) kids to talk about this? Seriously...you're not asking them about some Santa Claus wishlist, this is something serious, don't be doing these awkward unnecessary interviews with kids.
