Completely tuning out my roommate when it comes to talking about females after I laid groundwork for him to get it in while I was away from the hotel and he passed on it quicker than Steph Curry's release on his jumper.

Quick little bit of backstory....

There's a girl that started working with us. She's one of the better looking girls I've seen in town. The only problem is she's got a bit of an "open" personality to say the least. Anyways, he gets her number first night. Two or three nights ago she comes to our room to hang out. I go in to work an hour early and say to him "Hey, I'll cover for you and say you're sick so you can stay here". His response: "No, I'm going to work!". I say, "You sure? I can just bs for you. It's not a problem". "No, I'm going to work!". SMH.

So I leave. He gets to work an hour later. I ask him what happened because when I left he was in his bed, she was in mine. He tells me he gets her over to his bed aaaaaaaand they just laid there. Now the past few days he's wondering why she hasn't really been talking to him lol.

Even I'd have enough sense to handle that situation better.

You and your boys need to go outside the realm of work. Seems like all your stories involve trying to get with co-workers. You're just inviting trouble upon yourselves.

This is somewhat different since the roommate and I are out of towners. I'm gone in a few weeks so it's not like it has the same consequences as it would were I working back at home.

I definitely agree though. The problem is that obviously things are a lot easier in a work enviornment. Easier to get to know someone and whatnot.

I survived my 1st week of teaching my own class and I only thought "Why am I doing this" twice so that's nice. Started out this amazing weekend with my 1st grade team buying me a meal and a beer when we went out after school, totally prepared to keep this good thing going by doing absolutely nothing at all for 2 days.

I read that one line as "my 1st grade class buying me a meal and a beer..."

Had to re-read it to ensure that wasn't what it said.

Congratulations! Lol, I'm in my 21st year of teaching and I have that same "Why am I doing this" thought occasionally as well. Nothing beats this profession,

You guys ever been to a bar so terrible that it makes you actually re-evaluate your life and your choices that lead to you being there, and even go as far as to make you actively try to change that area of your life?

I just had that experience. I'm not much of a bar crawler, but I've never left a bar before midnight to go home.

edit: when I say it was a hole in the wall, I mean THERE WAS A LITERAL ****ING 40 INCH HOLE IN THE BATHROOM WALL WHERE I COULD SEE THE STAGE THROUGH.

I can honestly say I don't ever really get an itchy phase. Maybe like day five or six on my jaw line, but it passes in a day, 90% of my beards have never had an itchy phase. And I usually go 2 months with a beard, 1 month clean ish.

I've been to quite a few bars in my life for only being 23 (pops used to take me when I was under 21), but literally, as long as they have cold beer, I've thought it was awesome.
