It's phone upgrade time for the wife and I and I've narrowed it down to the Samsung Note 4 and the iPhone 6 plus. It would be my first iPhone and the main reason I'm considering it is for something different from Android. I've been on Android since the original Droid but the the smooth quick look and simplicity of iOS has started to grow on me.

New iPhones are probably about 3 months away so if you go the iPhone route I'd wait.

I personally hope that by the time the iPhone 7 comes out they go back down to the size of the 5S, the 6 is slightly too large for my liking.

You need to wait another two months or so. Both of those phones are about to be refreshed, so you can get the same thing for cheaper, or a better version for the same cost.

It's a thing. My dad is around 20/400. His vision is pretty terrible.

I don't think LASIK could actually do anything for me. I'm 20/25 in the left and 20/80 in the right, but I use a ton of prism. My eyes don't look in the same plane and I don't know if the surgery could correc that.

I hate those vision tests. Sure,my vision isn't 100%, but it's much better than I think those vision test people claim it is. At least I think it is...I mean sure I won't be able to see something like E6H98AFB from certain distances like on those vision tests,but if I'm reading a street sign or watching tv or something from further away, I can recognize words and patters,cause I'm use to seeing it, unlike those random combinations of letters and numbers on vision tests.

It's not bad that I need glasses in regular life,but forced to wear them while driving! I watch TV and go about my regular day just fine without it,but vision people claim I need it more,though I try my best to avoid using it unless I'm forced to(since the more you use it,more you depend on it).

Seems like new iPhones are always about 3 months away. That is, they always seem to be coming out with new ones.

I'm due for an upgrade next month and plan on getting another Android. I love my DNA.

The main thing that bugs me about Android is the OS upgrade process, mainly with carrier devices. If you have an unlocked phone or a Nexus then it's not to big an issue.

Had it done a little too young with an astigmatism when the procedure was in it's primitive state still.

It's not unique to need a touch up though a few years later. Most doctors offer a "warranty" if you will that if you need to have it redone a few years later they do it again for a discounted price.

Is a touch up the full thing again? That's my worry...spend so much money on it and it not last for the money invested.

A lens which includes some amount of prism correction, will displace the viewed image, as seen by that eye, toward a direction so as to bring that image into proper binocular sync with the image that is viewed by the other eye. This prism correction is used to treat muscular imbalance or other conditions (see vergence dysfunction) that cause errors in eye orientation, such as double-vision.


Prism correction is measured in prism dioptres."

And I have A LOT of those. I've got like 3.5 in each lens and they've added more each time. Pretty sure mine was caused by Epstein-Barr from when I got mono from my ******* of a roommate in spring of 2009.
