Re: Off Topic 2015
I've had both 4 and 5 answer multiple choice tests, but the "E" choice was often all/none of the above or some combination of 2 or 3 of choices a-d.
Probably actually a fill-in-the-blank section where you are given a list of possible answers which are lettered so you just have to right the letter instead of the entire word(s) in the blank.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
Penguins : 1990/91, 1991/92, 2008/09, 20015/16, 2016/17

Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976

Re: Off Topic 2015
The thing i hate about scantrons are how you never know what you got right or wrong. By that i mean, teachers take the question sheet back with the scantron. So when they give you your grade, you dont know which questions you got right or wrong.
That made finals harder for me. Not knowing what questions from midterm i got right, and what i need to improve on. That was a stupid school policy.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
It was a policy cause they wanted to prevent cheating. They use same test every semester,so they didnt want question/answers available to future classes taking the courses. They never wrote the test, they just teach the material.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
There are officially too many bowl games. With 40 games this year for 80 teams, there are currently only 75 teams with 6+ wins and 3 more (Kansas St., Georgia St., South Alabama) who can reach 6 wins next week. Thus, there will be at least 2 and possibly as many as 5 5-7 teams going bowling this year.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Off Topic 2015
Pretty sure 90% of the exams I took in grade school, high school, and even college, I was only trying to get a good grade on the exam, not actually learn the material. I was purely memorize and regurgitate.
And we almost always got our exams back and could see what we got right and wrong, including scantron exams.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams
UWW | UWGB | Duke

Re: Off Topic 2015
I frown upon curricula that makes this even possible, especially in math classes.
The best tests are ones where every resource is made available for you (open note/book) and not automatically passable as a result. Nothing should ever be memorized. It proves you know how to pass a test, nothing more.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Exactly. That's the problem with schools. Its only about who got best memory, not who learns stuff the most.
I knew people who never once opened their book or did homework. They just had real good memory and remembers everything the teacher said,so thats all they did in the class, and got 90 in it. Meanwhile, others who spent hours a day on homework, still had trouble on tests.
I was always that person who could do homework real easily, but then blanked out on tests, cause i have horrible memory. Math for example, a 10 step question, i might know how to do all steps, but during test, even forgetting 1,costs you big time. If someone were to even say 2-3 words about the step im forgetting, suddenly i remembered it all again.
Remembering 100% of material sucks, getting mini pieces of reminders if you blank out, helps big time. Open book was a big mental thing. People who knew beforehand the test would be open book, were able to focus better, not stressing out over remembering every last detailComment

I heard of a mom that home schools her 9 year old boy and gives him the answers, let's him use a calculator for multiplication, etc.....she's handicapping her son and setting him up for failure.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
