Ehhh...you're way more likely to die in a car crash and yet we all feel that's "acceptable risk"....That's also someone controlling a lethal weapon being stupid or making mistakes (sometimes accidents, but usually due to people not paying attention or something bad)

Any logical person knows the media hype against guns is purely agenda based. For instance, its a silly comparison but makes sense. Young 20 something year old kid, driving recklessly hits and kills a family.....do you ever hear a outcry for banning of the motor vehicle? Both the operation of a vehicle & a gun can be done recklessly or with intent to cause harm, yet it always seems "logical" the gun should be removed even though just as with motor vehicles, there is thousands upon thousands of responsible owners/operators. Yet only gun owners should be punished for a very small few........yeaaaaaaaa

        1. lol at the contradiction of the bolded.
        2. These "wink at the TOS because I know any rebuttal will get the whole thread deleted" posts are so tired and childish. We've all been around long enough to know the rules.

These odds are probably much higher if you take "death" out of the equation, but I couldn't find those numbers. And I'm not smart enough to figure out the odds of being in a mass shooting.

Odds of being struck by Lightning in a given year: 960,000/1
Odds of being struck by Lightning in your lifetime: 12,000/1

I don't think these numbers can be taken at face value because of the variables. I would argue that if you are engaging in a risky activity (drug sales) the ratio is much lower. If you are walking around minding your own business I think the ratio is much higher.

Also, leave politics out of it.
