Got put on the jury for 3 days the first time I ever had it. Second time I was there 2 days before Thanksgiving and I was done in a half hour, and the third they just rescheduled me twice and excused me entirely. I like to think of it as karma for getting stuck there the first time I ever had it.

Re: Off Topic 2016: Doe A Deer A Female Deer

I've been summoned half a dozen times I think. Lived in a smallish northern CA County for 5 years and got summoned 3 of them. Never actually had to go in though. Everytime I called the phone number each morning I'd be put on standby to call the next day till I was eventually dismissed.

I been told it can be fun (?) the first time just to see the process and see what's it's like. Especially if you get an interesting case.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Off Topic 2016: Doe A Deer A Female Deer

Had to go once last winter break. I first got my jury duty delayed from September because I was teaching at the time, so I waited till around December 21st or so, I believe.

Got called into the courtroom with dozens of others (I want to say nearly 100, seriously), and sat and watched many people before me go to the juror's bench (or whatever it's called) until time ran up for the day. I went in the next morning, and a half hour rolled by before they opened the doors and said, "It's possible you all might be going home." Five minutes later, it was official.

 Whatever happened, I'm guessing the guy entered a guilty plea. It was kind of tough because he needed a Spanish translator the entire time, so I don't know if maybe that communication took a while for them.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I did it once. I hated it. Never want to do it again.

I got put on a trial jury once and it was a petty trial...a sister accusing the brother of assault or something. After 6 hours of testimony, we get in the jury room and the foreman guy asks: "Anybody think this is a waste of time?" Every hand shot up immediately and within 5 minutes we're all going to our cars to leave.

Re: Off Topic 2016: Doe A Deer A Female Deer

Had jury duty once, got somewhat far, even made it on to a jury selection before being pulled off. Spent about a day there. Pretty sure it was a sexual assault case of some sort. I was kinda excited to do my civic duty and get out of work for the day but now that I've been through it, I'm good. Ha

 Re: Gamefly

The game I originally signed up for the free trial for finally became available... just in time for the trial to end. Cancelled today but have 7 days to return the game which should be arriving tomorrow. Takes 2-3 days to ship to/from, so I've got about 2 days to play and make a decision on if I want to buy it or not.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
 NFL - Buffalo Bills
 MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Yeah, I have no idea what kind of case it is, only that it is in the Court of Common Pleas next month. I'm thinking I probably wouldn't get selected though on account of my hearing and vision impairments.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

random QOTD, er QOTN I guess,

Who is the most attractive female from a sitcom? or the most crush-worthy girl.

actually, include guys too, don't want to discriminate anyone

I nominate Kate from Drew Carey, always loved her. There have been so many beauties over time I'm always curious who had crushes on who.

Way too many to list. One I'll say is Heidi from Home Improvement, since I've been recording those from Hallmark Channel lately.

As for Jury Duty, well...I'll post the clip I always post:

Lets see - in addition to what's already been said:
 Aunt Becky from Full House
 Phoebe from Friends (underrated IMO)
The Saved by the Bell girls
Elaine from Seinfeld (another underrated one)
 Kelly from Married with Children
Donna and Jackie from That 70's Show
Sally from 3rd Rock From The Sun (though technically a man)
 Dana from Step by Step
 The Weird Science chick
