re: Off Topic: The Posts Of Summer
tonight is our annual employee appreciation company dinner.
Look forward to this every year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

re: Off Topic: The Posts Of Summer
Two questions regarding video games/movies with a main villain:
1) Is there any real world scenario where you can see these underground henchmen devoting themselves to protecting a single individual on a 24/7 basis? I always find it kind of funny that there are people standing guard with assault weaponry as the good guy is stealthily approaching the nest. Hey, I understand for the president (considering it's more for our nation, plus that salary for which you are working), but some of these other radical groups in games and movies are sort of funny to think about that like... these guys lived a life outside of this point and time, and on screen they just become expendable nobodies? Just seems like an implausible lifestyle.
2) When anyone is playing a game or watching a movie, really early on do you ever say to yourself, "Gee, a bullet to the head would end this so quickly," especially when they have a true opportunity to make it happen? I suppose our hero is equally as vulnerable, but it seems like there are always presented a chance for an endgame yet do not execute it. Obviously the script dictates that, but also obviously we live within the game's/movie's world as we are observing it and needlessly need to inject our own thoughts into each scenario.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Call me crazy, but when I watch a movie or play a game, it's usually to avoid thinking about things like that - not to analyze every second of it.Comment

re: 1) Sometimes those thoughts come up inside my mind. Like, what keeps the Jokers goons around? But then I remember there are some pretty crazy fanatics that dedicate themselves to crazy **** in real life and it doesn't seem so outlandish anymore.

re: Off Topic: The Posts Of Summer
One came to me when I was playing Uncharted 2, and when there is a cinematic scene that shows Drake hiding behind a box or something while listening to a conversation from Lazarevich, I'm sitting there going like, "Let me just shoot this guy in the head!"
The other one I was thinking of after just watching the most recent episodes of Person of Interest. All of these enemies hired by Samaritan makes me go, "Where the hell do these anonymous guns for hire come from, and what makes them tick?" This isn't the first place Jonathan Nolan would have this idea happen (see the weaponized projections in Inception).
Don't get me wrong, any script I ever write would have the same gaping hole. Just made me wonder if anybody else ever had this run across their minds as well.
EDIT: Keep in mind the whole "This dude has a life!" isn't something that I ever thought of ha, I just wrote that as I was posting.Last edited by Blzer; 06-17-2016, 03:25 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

If you need a reason to move to Texas it's due to our cheap *** electricity. I live in a 2 story house and keep it at 73 and my electric bill is $30 this month. When I was in Mississippi I had a 1 story house and kept it at 78 and it was usually $150MLB: Texas Rangers

They unmonopolized it many years ago so you have like 30 something companies to chose from. In Mississippi I had one choice.
It's funny how competition drives down the price.Last edited by dickey1331; 06-18-2016, 02:09 AM.MLB: Texas Rangers

Man 30 bucks for electric in the summer is insane. I didn't even get that in the winter in Phoenix.
It's even more ridiculous here in the Philippines. So damn expensive, not looking forward to paying for the whole resort. Next thing I'm gonna setup are solar panels.

That is insanely good. I usually pay around $35 for my 1BDR apartment. I keep it on about 72 during the summer though, and I work from home so I have computer monitors or a TV going like 16 hours a day.Comment
