It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Merry Christmas!
2016 has to be the most historic year in sports EVER. Cubs break 100+ year curse, Cavs break Clevelands curse, and we see all time greats like Manning and Kobe and Ortiz retire. And even the tragic moments like with Ali and Mr.Hockey.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Merry Christmas!
We only put up lights for the first time last year. We'll probably do it again this year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Usually get a tree sometime in early December and it stays up through probably January 15 or so.
I like it. Makes it feel good in the house. We used to do more when we still lived in Fresno but a lot of things have changed since then so anything that recaptures that feeling even a little bit is a good thing.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 11-03-2016, 07:17 AM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Merry Christmas!
Back on the Christmas topic....
Anyone got any good/reasonably priced(meaning like a $50 limit) ideas on what to tell people whenever they ask what I want for Christmas?
I never know what to tell people, cause I don't exactly need anything, the things I want I know are too expensive to ever ask someone to get, and the typical things I do get(giftcards to places I don't really go to unless I have a giftcard for) I don't exactly care so much for.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Merry Christmas!
Depends on the place. But living in a big city, so many places are so overpriced/cater towards the downtown business people. Make something myself, I could spend maybe $5 at most on ingredients and finish making it within 30-60 mins, and it lasts multiple days. Have almost same thing at a restaurant here,it's like $20+ per item.
Either way, don't want giftcards or anything like that. Then it makes me feel obliged to go to those places. Though most times, the typical giftcards people around here do is for Starbucks,Tim Hortons and Chapters(basically the Canadian Barnes & Noble).
I don't go to Starbucks ever, and don't intend on ever going. Tim Hortons is nice, but I still got giftcards piled up from like 2 years ago cause 75% of people give it every year. And Chapters I thought I didn't like, and slightly regret giving away those giftcards to people as gifts, cause they actually had some DVD Boxsets of shows I like(sure netflix and all,but certain shows,I like having every episode in physical form to keep forever).Comment

What meal is $5 in ingredients and lasts multiple days? Even Hamburger Helper clocks in over $5.Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 11-03-2016, 05:15 PM.NFL - Vikings

Re: Off Topic 2016: Merry Christmas!
lol that's the point. If I don't tell people what I want, then it just gets annoying for them to find anything, and I end up getting stuff I might not need so much. Which is the original point, asking people on here for good gift ideas so I can just say something I want and avoid all of this.
Pasta mixed with whatever stuff you want to mix in it. Easy to just pack in those plastic food container and take for lunch the next day or two. Similar with sandwiches too.Last edited by Majingir; 11-03-2016, 05:18 PM.Comment
