As for the something from nothing article. In a kind of related notion, when we have collided the Higgs particle, we know something is created but we can't see what it is. But our readings show something. We think it could possibly be creating dark matter particles. Which would solve one of the biggest mysteries of the universe.

Also, we are about to crash the DART spacecraft into asteroid Dimorphos. It's live right now on NASA's YouTube channel.

It will still be a couple of weeks to see if it changed the trajectory of the asteroid at all

Hopefully they don't find that they've changed the trajectory to heading towards us. [emoji15][emoji38]

While it's not foolproof, DART was successful in its mission and what was learned may one day save our planet from catastrophe.

Smashing a probe into threatening space rocks is a strategy to defend Earth, an experiment confirms.

That is incredible. I liked how the article said we are now defenders of our planet. Everything has always been about exploring the skies and stars. Finally, we’re making an effort to protect what we have here.

That's fine, but we better still have the Bruce Willis plan as a backup just in case :P

Only from things in space. We're doing a horrible job protecting it from ourselves

You guys should really check out Anton Petrov on Youtube. He posts astronomy type videos every day. Updates on JWST and pretty much everything else. Did the update on DART yesterday.

Oh, and do yourself a favor and go to google and type in DART mission.

Pondering that this is all a simulation is always fascinating, at least to me.

So if we are in a simulation, then what explains lifeforms from the simulators themselves?

The Sims are asking themselves the same question. [emoji2960]

In seriousness, that's a secondary question. Before asking that, you'd have to demonstrate that we are in a simulation. I don't think we are in a simulation but some of the evidence is compelling. If the speed of light ever doubles (suggesting increased processing speed), I'll take it much more seriously but it is fun to think about.

You guys should check out some so called "glitch in the matrix" stories. If some of the stories are true, it lends credence to the simulation theory.

Not that I believe it's real, but I don't dismiss anything totally if there is no evidence to prove it wrong.
