I can't believe stuff like this actually exists out there.

I feel like I can't even process that picture. I mean, wtf? We are a speck of what the universe is made of. How are we even here? It's mind-bending to even think about. And everything we see is in the past. And who knows what it looks like now? Imagine all the planets in those galaxies. Probably trillions. There must be ones just like ours.
Sometimes this stuff keeps me up at night.Comment

JWST has found that there is photochemistry going on on the planet WASP-39b. A hot Saturn.
This is a huge discovery because it shows that there is actually ozone forming on that planet. Which is huge for potential life on terrestrial planets. Without ozone, we wouldn't be here. So knowing planets in the universe can have photochemistry and produce ozone is such a big discovery.Comment

Originally posted by Ghost Of The YearAnyone else hoping to get a good look at the Aurora Borealis, northern lights, tonight? Supposed to be some kind of solar storm tonight that will cause it to be seen further out than normal. I would like to see it but I also hope it doesn't knock out my satellite tv too tho.
Wife, dog, and I are making a little road trip a bit up north to get a good look at it! Camp the night, and then return tomorrow.

I only heard about this while watching the 11:00 news last night. They were showing some amazing pictures from the suburbs and other areas around Pittsburgh. Went up to the rooftop patio of my apartment building for a few minutes but didn't see anything. Probably too much light pollution in the city to see it.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
