I can't imagine doing this in front of a police station when they're not expecting it. It always feels like a drug deal (not that I know what that feels like) despite what you're buying/selling and with who.

The "Best of" section is awesome, too. Recent example:

      Thumb wrestling Partner - m4t

I need somebody to thumb wrestle. I love the sport and am very passionate about it. I have different stage names for my (left) thumb, but the most famous that you may have heard about (if you know the TW crowd) is El Chupa Thumbrah. he has a little mustache and I paint a red and green leotard on him for events. I am mostly looking for left handed partners to compete against and cheer on, but anyone with a caring and supportive demeanor and the grip of a teenage offshore drill hand is welcome.
I also enjoy crocheting, shadow puppeteering and speed snapping to keep my fingers loose.

Also a must see ad: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best...355818053.html

        Re: How legit is Craigslist?

Bought and sold several things on craigslist with no problem. One time I met a guy in the parking lot of a mall with his dad for him to sell me a ps2 and some games. I went to someone's house one time to pick up a tv stand. I was nervous but luckily it worked out.

Anyone ever bought tickets through craigslist where the owner asks you to pay thru paypal and then they email you the tickets? I see people advertise that they will e-mail you tickets after paying thru paypal but I always thought it was a scam, but I know when I have gone to hawks games I see people walk up to the line with a ticket that looks like it was printed off a computer.

You can print tickets off stub hub... It's not abnormal to print tickets nowadays. Same for the movies... it's just part of technology now.

You can print tickets and all,but on as site not stubhub, you're risking it. They could easily print multiple pairs of tickets. And you don't get reimbursement if it doesn't work.

I sold my One on Craigslist a couple days ago. Stuck with my typical process of filtering interest and had no problems. Met the guy, showed the system worked, he had cash in hand.

Like I said in my first post you just have to be careful and invest time in communicating with anyone before you meet. Don't take any chances

                  Re: How legit is Craigslist?

I've been buying and selling stuff from Craigslist for almost 10 years.

I've met people at my place, their place, and also public places.

It all depends on communication and worth of the item being sold.

If you're selling expensive electronics, or just don't want people knowing where
you live, then meet at a public place with a friend with lots of people nearby.

I haven't bought software per se, I may have bought a few video games.
Most of the things I've bought, sold, and gotten/given free: Furniture, several cars, car parts, books, games, other scrap/junk, etc...There's more.

Consoles and electronics, I'd have to agree, though I've never had a bad experience with those items. Cars I've never had any sketchy issues trying to buy or sell a car. Usually just have to deal with bargaining, no-shows, low offers.

Not sure about the FL example, but I met my college roommate on Craigslist, we met for lunch before deciding to do it.

Met a few girls there too, not that much different than dating websites, except there's a lot of shady ads that you just need to ignore.

I bought Hornets tickets off of CL about a month ago. Paid with paypal and the seller actually just transferred them online from his Hornets Ticketmaster account to mine. I was able to just show the QR code on my phone at the arena for them to scan.
