We worked together at a psychiatric facility after college. Both of us majored in psychology in undergrad.

Re: Just wondering where you met your girlfriend/wife.

      Cliff notes:

I dated a girl for a year who I met in a club back in college, broke up with said girl and remained friends...two years later, said ex sends out a mass chain email game, I did not understand it and mistakingly hit "replied to all" saying the link is broken. One of her friends responded to me, explained how to play the game, asked me how I knew Jennifer (my ex) and we sparked up a conversation, back and forth while we were each at our respective desk jobs.

She checked with Jenn to see if it was cool and to asked her about me, we spoke on the phone, met, went on a few dates, married two years after that, and now here we are over a decade and 3 kids later.

Met my wife at an irish dive bar the weekend I moved to Cincinnati after leaving the Air Force. Had moved into a bachelor pad apartment earlier that day with an old friend and wasn't even planning on going out and was dragged to the bar still wearing the crappy clothes I moved in, which was a beer league softball jersey and cargo shorts. Ended up breaking my lease a couple months later and moving in together and married about a year later and in 22 days it will be 10 years and in 24 days will be our daughter's 3rd birthday.

We worked together in college doing math tutoring junior year. She was new there at the beginning of the semester. She was the first girl I had asked out not through online dating since high school and that was that. Lived together and apart with long distance since she was at Denver and is from Ukraine and I went to Delaware then worked in Iowa. Got married earlier this year.

              Met my wife at work.

People frown on workplace romances but you literally spend the majority of your week at work so things are bound to happen.

Some people just aren't mature enough to deal with the pressures of it though.

Re: Just wondering where you met your girlfriend/wife.

First semester at MSU. But, we didn't actually get together until about four years later. We initially just became really good friends when I was dating her roommate, though I still did find her very attractive at the time (I'd later find out that she always wanted more from me, but it was like I was always in a "relationship" with someone else or something else would happen that kept us from getting together). I soon broke up with her roommate, but still remained friends with her. Most girls I dated or tried to date around that time were always intimidated by our friendship, but nothing happened between us for the first few years we knew each other. I ended up finding someone who wasn't insecure about the friendship and fell pretty hard for her. But, after said girlfriend unexpectedly passed, I was super depressed and had basically withdrawn from everyone and every girl I met for awhile I was unable to get emotionally involved with. But she was the one constant through all of the **** I went through with Lauren's death and the suicide of a close friend. Despite my isolation, she just wouldn't let me be alone, and is probably the only reason I have finally been able to start moving on from the events. She ended up finally expressing her feelings for me one night and sort of gave me an ultimatum, which made me realize just how much she meant to me, and how blind I had been. Now, we've been together for about a year and a half. She hints alot about getting engaged and Im getting to the point where I may propose soon. She's about the only thing in the world that REALLY matters to me, so I DO want to, but there is some uncertainty in my future as I'm likely to be moving somewhere across the country next year for med school, and while she says she's moving with me its still a ways away and we'll see where things go. I just don't think I can do a long distance relationship.

I'm guessing ours is more "common", met at a bar. Played some pool and hung out afterwards. This October will make 11 years so not all bar "hook ups" end in disaster lol.

                      On Facebook.

Her best friend and I had classes together in college. I was somewhat entertaining and she'd always tell my wife the things I'd be doing. About 7 years after graduation, this random cute girl I didn't know requested Facebook friendship. I accepted because she was cute but had no idea who she was. The rest is history! We hit 5 years of marriage back in April!

Met her last day of Freshman year (high school) at a party. Didn't speak to her much again over the summer and then reconnected the start of sophomore year. Started dating in October of 1996, got married in 2005 and still going strong almost 20 years later.

We shared a mutual friend and I liked her MySpace picture so we went to the movies as a group date type thing.

Went over my buddy's house for a little get together, and a new girl he was seeing was there, along with her best friend.

When I walked in and saw her (my girlfriend), I turned to my buddy and asked if that attractive young lady was the girl he's been seeing. He said no, we hit it off, and four and a half years later, it's time to do some ring shopping.
