Other hobbies and interests

Hi guys

I see there was a older thread but thought I'd start a current one.Aside from video games what other hobbies do you guys have?

For me I'm really into table top sports games such as strat o matic baseball,football and hockey. I also enjoy painting my own teams for stiga table top hockey.

The last couple years I have been collecting Magic the gathering cards also, I like the art on the cards

Another Strat O Matic fan?! Nice. Use to play it with my dad, he loved it and would buy the new cards every year.

For me, aside from gaming, it's anime/manga, reading, movies and music.

Aside of coaching baseball I really enjoy programming on Scratch, I also teach that to my students. I find myself programming quick games more than playing these days. Scratch doesn't work on tablets or phones, but here are a few example projects for fun. This keeps me in the basement bar and out of trouble.

I also like smoking on my Weber Smokey Mountain. That keeps me out of trouble too.

I play guitar and coach softball.

And oh yes, watching movies... and sports (but I think we all watch sports here).

Aside from playing sports and crossfit and stuff like that, I play piano (sometimes sing) and write music, though not for an audience. I used to have a YouTube channel where I did covers and sometimes piano tutorials but I took it down a couple years ago.

My wife and I collect, build and paint Warhammer 40,000 miniatures/armies. We haven't played a game yet.

I also love watching films and read the occasional book.

Definitely a movie buff,I watch way more than I saw in the movie thread. Most of the time I just enjoy the movie and just let it pass and move on the next one.

Photography. I've somewhat took this seriously, got 5 different lenses, full frame Nikon, a couple programs i bought on my mac but I don't think i've fully grasped what my camera can do and how to take advantage of it.

Yoga and Meditation. Pretty much this saved my life and turned my outlook from total darkness to something unbelievable. I've gotten away from it in the last year and I became so stressed trying to open the resort i'm opening. I'm back at it and it feels great.

One of my hobbies is training my dogs in agility. It's a competition event where you run obstacle courses with your dog. My two older dogs are retired from it now, but I am training my young 11 month old puppy now and will begin competitions with her next year when she is old enough to enter. I have a feeling she's going to be pretty good at it, she's not scared of anything. This is a photo of when my oldest dog Miley earned her Master Agility Champion (MACH) title a few years ago.

Then my other hobby is collecting and building Lego sets, primarily Lego Star Wars sets. My crown jewel of them all is the Millennium Falcon seen below. It is over 5000 pieces that I had to order individually because the set is no longer made. I also love that Ghostbuster's firehouse in the corner. I have a six foot table depicting the Battle of Hoth, a shelf containing Tatooine sets, and a whole lot more.

Other than that, I listen to audio books every day on the way to and from work, and love to travel. Over the past few years I've been to Australia, France (3x), Germany, Scotland, England, and many places within the USA.

I started collecting baseball cards again a few years ago. Have a specific brand I buy and a certain way of organizing them.

Recently I have been getting back into building Lego sets thanks to playing Lego Dimensions over the past year. Built the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car two weeks ago.

Now......photography, star gazing and watching all the series of Star Trek on Netflix everyday year round. When I was younger, played the piano, sing, weigh lifting and wrote novels. One of these years I will get back into weight lifting. In my prime I was able to bench 350 regularly.

I too have fallen to the dark side and found the joy in building Lego Star Wars Sets. Luckily I have a kid who enjoys it too, so I get a little bit of a free pass from the wife.

I also like to golf, play basketball, and most sports in general.

I like to play corn hole beanbag toss.

I also like the command & colors dice and card game system and have hand painted hundreds of soldiers.

Also a huge History fan and read pretty much anything I get my hands on. Especially like the Napoleonic era.
