      Cost/benefit analysis question:

New heat pump I've got has a 10 year parts warranty included. The optional labor warranty is for 10 years but is $500 and requires a service done each year @ $75. So, it's ultimately $1250 for this extra warranty.

Everybody I know says do it but I just don't see how the benefit will outweigh the cost over these 10 years. I get the "what if" scenarios but that goes both ways.

someone once told me, if they are pushing a warranty on you, dont do it. Never questioned it, or thought about it, and its never come back to haunt me.

Warranties are usually never worry paying extra for. Most times employees just doing their job offering it, knowing 99.9% of people will say no. Commission people though get annoying about it. Last tv I got, sales guy was pushing warranty and other stuff for like 20-30 mins straight. No means no........

Also, remember to change clocks in about 24hrs from now. 1 hour ahead.

I was going 57 in a 45 today and crossed a sherrif's deputy. I saw him immediately turn on his brakes and I knew I had a ticket so I slowed it down to 45. The cop caught up to me, tailed me for about 5 miles then went off a side road.

So then, folks, today...is a day of thankfulness.

I wonder if at that time he's checking records for an "Is this a big fish worth catching?" kind of deal.

Cops must love that authority, too. People drive safer (perhaps the proper term is "more defensively") simply because of their presence on the road.

I'd be annoyed as **** if I was a cop driving around. Everyone going the speed limit or under.

Yet, like most cops, it seems you can always provide yourself probable cause for going 90+ MPH and whiz right by them.

Of course, unlike others, you probably don't have a destination you are necessarily going to.

I always pull over if I see a cop behind me. I'm sure it looks suspicious but that's way too much pressure to drive under.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                          It comes from The Simpsons.
Smarch is the thirteenth month of the year, according to Springfield Elementary School calendars. It has 28 days.

Of course the week I decide to take vacation so I can get some stuff done around the house is the week that it finally decides to turn winter.

lol ya. And it's appropriate right now too given that many places are expected to get major snowstorms. NYC for example getting well over a foot of snow.

We are expecting over a foot of snow in Northeast Ohio in the next day and a half. Just started coming down pretty hard here. I'm in the middle of the snowbelt so we might get more. But honestly, we are so used to this here its really not a big deal.
