Spent the weekend at the Louisville Arcade Expo. I highly recommend that if you're in the Louisville area when it comes around next year, and you love classic arcades, pinballs, and consoles, that you attend. You will not be disappointed.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Off Topic 2017: Because this isn't overtime
(Hopefully this post is allowed on here, if not then delete it, because it's mostly about sports and not really political talk or anything)
If anyone wants to join in, feel free:
Consultation status: Closed Read what we heard when we invited Ontarians to share their experiences and ideas about buying and selling tickets online.
Basically what that is about is the Ontario government trying to regulate ticket scalping. It'd mostly impact Toronto events(since Toronto is the ticket scalping capital).
Reason I bring it up is because it makes me wonder that if regulations get made which impact a city as big as Toronto, is there ever any chance it could impact cities in the US as well? Obviously nobody likes ticket scalpers because of how they buy out all the tickets and how much they jack up the prices on tickets. But maybe something like this could catch the attention of people in other places if something does impact one of the bigger sports cities in North America.Last edited by Majingir; 03-07-2017, 12:40 AM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2017: Because this isn't overtime
I didn't mean of the world, just Canada(but wouldn't be surprised if they were very high up on the list in North America). But it is a very serious business here. Mob styled business here where certain people run everything and chase away anyone else in the area trying to sell tickets in public. And lots of tickets get bought up like crazy with sole intent to re-sell. If the government is addressing it, you know it's serious.
Quantified though, outside of Cubs, Jays were 3rd in highest resell price in the playoffs. And Leafs are #1 in the NHL in regular season ticket re-sell price(and would be #1 in playoffs if they ever made playoffs). And Raptors were #2 in the NBA for playoff re-sell price.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the position of Moderator, but I'd think one of the first requirements would be to understand what is allowed or not.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

And they are "mob style" in every city here. Not sure anyone can say their city is the capital of ticket scalping since it's pretty rampant everywhere.
Also, neither of the links you shared have anything to do with ticket scalping.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2017: Because this isn't overtime
There are grey areas at times. And sometimes people take a post the wrong way when it wasn't intended to be like that which is why I wanted to clarify it was a sports related post and not a political type of post since I know there'd be at least 1 person who'd probably read it and instantly just flag it for being political.
I regret 90% of the time I come in to the OT thread lol.Last edited by Majingir; 03-07-2017, 01:15 AM.Comment
