I bank and work at the same company so every time I log on to see my checking account balance, my 401k activity shows up. It's the worst.

Haha, this is awesome. I'm actually even considering fake reference people, who would say anything needed. I think I can pull this thing. I mean, it's not a :Catch-Me-If-You-Can kind of thing, but I think it's going to be interesting.

Well, told them I don't feel well and went home. What a great feeling! Now...if I can get paid for this (I don't have sick days), now I'm on to something.

re: Off Topic 2017: It Is April

Sometimes, I am just rolling listening to people on conference calls that seemingly have no inhibition. Example from this morning:

Guy1: "John, do you know what steps are being taken to resolve xyz?"

                John: "Yes, we're doing abc."

Guy1: "Yeah, I don't understand that answer at all so I'm going to ask it again. Also, try listening fully before you answer this time."

                Me, on mute:

At this point I am considering something I would never even consider ever before, which is the George Costanza route, since at this point I don't really care. Meaning, I am going to add some skills/employment history (maybe even education...if it's not too risky) - that never happened in real life. If not for actually being hired, then at least for some kind of an experiment.

I just wonder if there is a legal problem doing this. As long as the potential employer can't really do much other than kicking me out, I might just try it.

Of course, if it does work and I do get hired by using this, it means that I'll have to keep lying as an employee as well. Being a terrible liar, it isn't easy for me but, like everything else, it may get better with practice. It's a dangerous route, because you never know where it ends. But if there is no real risk, it can at least be some one-of-a-kind experience.

Unless you're getting a job with the Yankees, I'd forget about emulating Costanza.
Kramer, however is full of win.

Haha! Costanza is a crazy-but-possible scenario. Kramer, however, is a fantasy, for me. But I did happen to come across some kind of a real-life Kramer:

About 7 years ago I worked at a small company, and me and that guy started on the same day. He was in his early 50's back then, he was living with a roommate, never had a credit card (no credit history?) and even told me how once he had been hitchhiking or something and then got lost at some frozen no-where, and luckily a nice couple took him in and let him spend the night there.

We would be doing some graphic design for that company, but since this guy didn't like the Mac computers with the Adobe programs we had there (especially Illustrator and InDesign), he decided to bring his own PC desktop computer (which had Corel Draw on it). The problem was that he didn't have where to put his machine, so one day he went in the morning to Walmart or some other store and bought himself a cheap little desk. Then he spent some of the day putting it together.

If that's not Kramer, then I don't know who is.

His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down two-thousand dollars to live like him for a week. Do nothing, fall ***-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors, and have sex without dating.

I've never owned a credit card in my life either and my credit score is around 750. I don't like the thought of payment plans so I avoid them - I save up and pay for it all up front.

That's good. I only use my credit card for paying my car insurance, unless there's something else once in a while. It goes out of my account on the last day automatically. I only have 1 credit card, and so does my wife. Not going to change it any time soon.
