It's really not as expensive as you guys are making it out to be. Coupons, 2for1 deals and staying away from the more expensive brands kept cost rather low given the amount of meals it all provided.

Parmesan cheese and chicken breast? That's gotta be like a thousand times more expensive then top ramen and cup o noodle.
The fanciest I got was adding ground beef to Mac and cheese.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Cup of Noodles and/or Ramen Noodles and if I wanted to be fancy with it, throw some sliced sausage or chicken and shrimp with a dab of Mambo Sauce and Garlic.

Was watching a youtube video the other day on how to make a "ghetto tamale" using ramen noodles and a bag of Doritos. That probably qualifies more as prison food, or just being a glutton for punishment tho.Comment

I still hate yard work though. Especially, since it takes 2 hours out of my Saturday when I could be watching cartoons like the rest of you.
SpoilerI could pay someone to do it, but it's hard for me to pay someone for something that I can easily do myself. I attribute it to my being poor days. I don't see at as just paying someone to do something I can do. I look at it like that money I can use on a vacation or pay down on a new car or something. Maybe one day I'll convince myself to go that route though.
1) Black Eyed Peas and Rice - Get a 3 or 4 cans of Black Eyed Peas and throw in whatever I had with it. Sometimes bacon, sometimes ham or turkey slices sometimes nothing. I would sautee onions or bell pepper and throw if I had it. Let it all cook for a little while then thrown in some beef bouillon cubes for taste, then add a **** ton of Tony Chachere's. Serve over rice and with crackers or cornbread if you're feeling fancy.
2) Tomato Soup and cheese toast - Simple one can of Campbell's tomato soup and eat with cheese toast. Cheese toast is basically just a grilled cheese with one piece of bread because you can't afford to eat two pieces of bread on one sandwich.
3) Asparagus Stacks - Get a couple of cans of Asparagus, some white bread, and Great Value cheese. Cook the Asparagus in the microwave, toast the bread and add cheese on each piece of bread. Once the Asparagus is done, the stack them like pancakes. Note: you have to eat it immediately or the bread gets soggy and gross.
4) Hot Dogs/Corn Dogs with tater tots - pretty self-explanatory, but The Hot Dogs weren't no Nathan's or Ball Park Franks or anything like that. It was the 89 cent pack that's like a bright reddish color.
5) Frozen Burritos - These weren't the cheapest, but from what I remember you could get a large pack for a fairly decent price. The good thing is you can fancy them up yourself by adding cheese, salsa, or whatever else you have on hand.
Other than that just lots of ham and bologna sandwiches, maybe tuna salad everyone once in a while. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Off Topic 2017: It's Gonna Be May...and we're still debating dog pants
In college, my girlfriend's mom liked to cook a lot and send it to us so I didn't live quite the same trife life as some. I also had a meal plan when I lived on campus so I had my choice of the cafeteria whenever basically (lots of chicken tenders and various types of wraps).
I wasn't much of a cook on a budget until graduate school, actually. In graduate school, there was a good deal of ramen, pasta, and sandwiches. I'd have to say my go to meals were (1) french bread pizza with a spinach salad including cherry tomatoes, feta and Italian dressing; (2) kielbasa, sauerkraut, and baked beans; (3) a beefaroni/chili sort of goulash with beef, macaroni noodles, kidney beans and shredded cheese.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

The brief time I lived in the dorms, I never got through all the money on my Husky Card that they forced you to put on there. Ended up spending a ton of it at the vending machine. Someone always came by for the snacks I left in there.

I know they say these horses love to run, if so lets see'em race w/out jockeys.
maybe there would be fewer broken legs and on-track euthanasia
those people remind me of the people who claim to love their dogs, then proceed to carry them with them to the store and lock them in the car with the window cracked in 90degree+ heat. Its all I can do to restrain myself from taking a hammer to hole out the window so those poor dogs can breathe.
