for some reason my body temp skyrockets when I sleep, I can barely wear anything, no comforter, windows open even in winter (unless the wind is harsh), and fans blowing. Otherwise there's a good chance I wake up in the middle of the night with excruciating calf cramps

(You can see why not having A/C was a major issue for me a couple years ago)

Exactly. Socks in summer in general doesn't make sense outside of work. If it's below certain temperature, then socks in bed is fine.

Can we at least get to the autumnal equinox before starting Christmas discussion? I mean, it's still summer (in the northern hemisphere at least) for crying out loud. Well, I guess this year the autumnal equinox (Friday) is only 1 day after the start of week 3 (Thursday), but it's supposed to be in the 80's all week here.

Temperature set at 68 f, wear socks, shirt and shorts.

Growing up I only wore drawers and a shirt. I got in trouble if i slept in socks and shirt growing up, but normally at night i would sneak a t-shirt on.

I think my current sleeping attire of socks, shorts and shirt developed from my years in the military. Probably wanting my room cold comes from military as well.

So I'll be coaching HS Football this year for the first time. I'll be an Assistant working mainly with WRs but I'm definitely excited for the opportunity.

Anybody else here Coach or has coached in HS? Anything I should keep in mind but I do know this is a different animal from coaching rec league ball.

Just to give ya'll an update: 2 months in and I ****ing love it, man.

Got a great group of kids who are hungry and eager to learn and get better every single day. And also give them advice about things outside of Football as well.

Little tidbit for ya'll: This school is/was one of the worst Football programs in the state. IIRC, they've had maybe one winning season in the last 15-20 years and have won only 1 game in the last 5 and that was because(from what I was told)the other team botched the hold on a potential GW FG and one of our players picked it up and scored the GW TD.

1 win in the last 5 years.

We're now 3-0 and tied for 1st while playing in the toughest region and county(PG County 4A) in the state and in each of those games, we've came from behind to win all 3.

-First game, down 6-0 early in the 1st quarter and come back to win 14-6 in OT.

-2nd game, down 16-0 in the first 5 mins after the other team ran back the opening kickoff for a TD and scored on a PR right after our first 3 and out. We end up winning that game 20-16.

-3rd game, we go up 14-0 in the first 6-7 minutes of the game. The opposing team runs off 16 unanswered and has the lead until we score a TD with 14 seconds left in the game and win that one 22-16.

I'm so proud of these kids, I'm proud to be apart of their team and this coaching staff as well, which we're all pretty much brand new. But yeah, I ****ing love coaching.

Haven't seen Sportscenter in I don't know how long, but every once in a while I will have ESPN on (probably was watching a baseball game) and suddenly it's on. Anyhow, Kenny Mayne was one of the anchors tonight and my god he looks terrible. I actually looked his Wikipedia page up to see if there might be info about him being sick, but didn't find any. I did learn that Randall Cunningham was a backup to Mayne (who was the #2 QB to Sam King) at UNLV in 1981. Didn't know that, lol. One of those QBs went on to have a pretty nice pro career.

When I'm watching a live event on ESPN, I straight up race to change the channel when it's over to just to avoid watching Sportscenter or leaving it on for any of the other trash they have.
