so I just bought 7 tickets to th e Bama-Ole Miss game in a couple weeks, from VividSeats. I printed them off from my computer & printer but what happens now to the real tickets that are floating around somewhere out there & whats to keep someone from using them & beating me to the game? I printed out a couple tickets to a Bama softball game a couple years back but this didnt occur to me then.

If actual paper tickets are what you bought they would have had to have been sent to you with confirmation of delivery prior to the seller getting paid.

The tickets you bought never had an actual paper ticket sold which means either the seller is just re-selling something THEY bought on line or these are just seats that the broker you are buying from bought.

Instead of paying someone to do it, I'm gonna give converting some old family VHS tapes into digital formats a try. Never realized how easy/cheap it is to do it yourself.

Just gonna opt for one of those composite to usb cables and do it that way. I don't know what's so different about something like this which is under $20 vs something which might be closer to $100. Or why it seems like people charge $20 a tape to do this stuff. Don't you just set the stuff to record and leave it? Not like you're sitting there for 2-6 hours to watch everything.

Hopefully it works and stays same quality it was on the tapes(though the tape quality itself isn't so great). And hopefully I actually record the entire tape, because I don't know if a tape has 20 minutes of stuff, or 2 hours. Would be nice to send some people these videos they probably never knew/remember existed. Would be a nice Christmas present as well for some people.

Anyone have any experience with this?

No. 37 posts is after 10 posts, so it could be there where he sees if it works, after 10.

Or he could see if it works on his 11th post, which is after 10.
Or he could see if it works on his 12th post, which is after 10.
Or he could see if it works on his 13th post, which is after 10.

I ripped The Ring BD to my computer, found a snippet of the tape with the well, set it to loop for minutes on end, and saved it as a video.

Tomorrow I'm going to bring it to my class where there is an unused tube TV, and as I'm teaching I'm going to sneak turn it on and wait for students to react, only for me to be the last to notice, freak out, and pull the television's plug.

Actually, they weren't even born when the movie came out, so they might not have any knowledge as to what it is. We'll see.

This is basically what they'll get a glimpse of by the time the TV turns on...

^ Well, this thing was a moderate success.

In my first period class, as I was going over an answer key on the document camera, I snuck out the remote and turned on the TV. I was talking over it so I "didn't notice it turn on" for a while. As I looked at their faces, their eyes were glued to that screen. I looked over, and did the perfect freak-out as if I just saw a ghost, falling out of my chair and crawling to a corner of the desk, peering at it. Then I crawled under the desk to the outlet, ripped the power cord out, and shuddered in silence for about the next fifteen seconds with my mouth mumbling. Some students who were initially skeptical suddenly thought this thing was real and was wondering if I was okay lol. I took forever to "compose myself" before going back to teaching, now talking with a shaky voice and looking back up at the turned off tube every ten seconds. I let it go for about a half hour, then a non-believing student plugged in the TV again and turned it on, only for a Spanish channel to pop up. That was so perfect, the TV reset its input to cable after it unplugged! Worked out so well for me, so suddenly many were big believers haha.

The only problem was once I did it that first time, students started talking... so even though I skipped a period to feel it out (and no one spoke of it), I tried it again the next period where one student near the door like sprinted out of the classroom shrieking for a moment! A couple of other students claimed that I had done it to first period and I denied it, but I'll come clean tomorrow especially since I returned my equipment back to my house. Yet still, these are the things I love doing with students. It's fun to yank their chain at times, since it just keeps them on their toes. They secretly enjoy that side as well, as long as they know they're not about to die in the process. I just straight up told my fifth period about it and showed them it because I didn't prep the input for them in time and I figured they would have heard about it anyway. They thought it was genius to do to them (they are the older class and I spooked the freshmen classes).
