One thing I always wonder about, why do some Christmas shows/movies include Rudolph and some don't? I don't mean actual appearances, I mean they'd just flat out reference 8 reindeer. Same with parades. Some parades have Rudolph, some don't.

And some that do show Santa flying don't actually show all reindeer. Frosty I know had Santa and like 2 or 4 reindeer and that's it.

Rudolph wasn't an orginal reindeer. The orginal 8 were created in 1821 and Rudolf didn't come along until 1939.

I'm not sure if you can see this video if you're not on Facebook. It's a side-by-side comparison of somebody processing double-digit multiplication by hand the traditional way versus a teacher showing a process to students in school that takes significantly longer.

Unfortunately, everybody here who is not understanding what the teacher is attempting to accomplish with these students down the line is missing the big picture. Seeing the FB comments is leaving me rather livid at the ignorance of everybody who thinks they "have it" down pat. This is much more than just a math problem here.

Don't even make me start talking, because you know I can talk about this for a long time.

I was just reading up on Santa's reindeer and I just learned the guy who wrote Wizard of Oz also wrote a book about Santa in 1902. He gave Santa 10 reindeer, all different from the original 8: Flossie & Glossie, Racer & Pacer, Fearless & Peerless, Ready & Steady, Feckless & Speckless. And Southpark even went so far as to name Santa's backup team when the original 8 were killed in Iraq: Steven Fluffy Horace Chantel Skippy Rainbow Patches and Montel.

Also, Donner & Blitzen were originally Dunder & Blixem (Dutch for thunder & lightning).

Exactly. For most people, Rudolph has always been around. I think he's popular enough to be an official one. More people know Rudolph than any other reindeer.

Nothing like cleaning the bathroom after battling the stomach bug/flu for 72 hours to make you realize the hell you went through.

I walked in there today to clean and a narrator spoke "for 72 hours a hellacious and intense battle occurred on these hallow grounds."
