    Re: Longest standing members.

I lurked OS and MM back in the early 2000s(didn't Madden Mania have a big Madden 2005 PC section?) , officially joined either late 03 or early 04, I remember ESPN College Hoops was what got me coming around a lot. Then once 2k5 dropped, it sealed the deal. I had some OS issues with voicing my opinion of Madden. Stayed gone for a couple years while in college, then in 2008 I asked permission from Steve if I could come back. A decade later, and many many memories. I still kinda miss Goh though

Blacklover memory cards, damn that's a throw back!!

Like so many others, joined for the NCAA football rosters. That was 16 years ago....wow. I remember making it onto the Top 10 for long standing members that still weren't in blue. Blzer hooked me up.

RIP to the OS Babes thread(s). Those were pretty lively.

Thats why you dont see anything earlier then July 2002 but was around before that. I remember madden Mania slightly i keep thinking it was around in some form or fashion in maybe 1999. Steve will have to answer that. I found OS thru ign and Gamespot. Also, this site needs a wiki page.

It shut down? As far as I remember they just switched servers or whatever and couldn't carry over the stats from the old forums. That's why a lot of us have the same join date.

I also think it's interesting how my usage of OS has evolved...when I joined I played video games. I now use it purely for the sports talk and haven't purchased a video game in nearly a decade. It is the most well modded site I've found with great people/discussion and I can't see myself NOT being involved.
I think TJ is still in talk/sports radio.

Oh, and there was another forum a lot of the order posters went too after some "issues" here, Clay, Sully, etc. Cannot remember what they were called though.

I think its only fitting that my 40,000th post is posted in the longest standing members thread.

And I remember that site Dook, but I can't remember the name. I think I joined there.

Yeah I knew it was the late 90s . I knew i wasn’t crazy. Seems like i was lurking around during my Senior year in college.

                  Re: Longest standing members.

I was a mod at Maddenplanet before I had a falling out with a guy there who was also a mod, Rack, and AndyP banned me from there. So I reluctantly came here and have been here every since.

I was also a member of Maddenmania as well but I more or less lurked there and rarely posted.

I've too come a long way since joining, I used to be quite the drinker and get myself in trouble here on occasion when I was single but now I'm married so on the rare occasion I drink I typically don't come here (I've grown wiser LOL).

I would be remiss if I didn't say something though I haven't seen mentioned, Fairdale Kings! I used to work with Fairdale Kings on his NCAA rosters and met many people that way. My job was to secure an early copy for FK and I usually was able to come through for him since Ohio was a hotspot for it.

But I also helped him with tech support and that was pretty cool. I recall one guy who didn't understand how to load the NCAA rosters and I helped him get it loaded. Turned out he worked for Microsoft and I thought maybe, for a second, I was in trouble. But nope, in fact quite the opposite.

The guy gave me 3 years of Xbox Live codes and asked if I wanted a game. I couldn't think of any MS games I'd want so I told him instead of that I'd like a discount or used racing wheel if he could do that. I didn't figure he'd end up sending me a new racing wheel but sure enough about 6 weeks later this huge package showed up at my workplace and sure enough, a MS Xbox 360 racing wheel!

I still occasionally talk to FK on Xbox Live but his star, and by default mine, have faded since the glory days of the NCAA series.

Glad I found this place though, and I always wonder whatever happened to AndyP.

                          Re: Longest standing members.

I was a member/mod at Baseball Sim Central and remember interviewing the developer of HH Baseball, that was my thrill of the past and I also met him when the AS game was in Milwaukee.

I was also a member of MM, lurked MP and there was another Madden football site, but I can't remember the the name of the site.

I found out about OS through BSC and I recall some of the members of BSC were cautious of OS because there were serious sim players at OS.(Isn't that part of the name of BSC?)lol

Anyway, this is a great place and glad I made the decision to become a member.

I tried too to get early copies for him so he could start on the rosters.

Yeah I had met FK a couple of times as he lived near me. I would make that drive to Ohio, grab copies of NCAA football and then meet up with him at a McDonald's in Louisville to give him a copy of the game if he needed it. Great times.

I remember meeting up with fellow OS'er BrianFifaFan and ODogg on a trip to Ohio once, snagging an early copy of NCAA Football.
