Re: Longest standing members.
I keep saying we need to have an APF 2K8 Armchair QB's reunion. One of the few times I played online and it was an absolute blast. I don't think Okoye's rushing records will ever be broken from Season 1, lol.Currently Playing:

Re: Longest standing members.
I wish I could find my old old youtube channel which had a lot of APF 2k8 stuff on it, sadly I can't figure out the sign in. I think the issue has to do with google, way back then I think I signed up with a Hotmail account and now YouTube is owned by Google so you must sign in with a Gmail account.
I know there is some of our APF 2k8 league games somewhere on YouTube!Last edited by Phobia; 09-06-2018, 02:07 PM.Comment

Re: Longest standing members.
I haven't been here nearly as long as a lot of you, and I've never posted a ton of stuff, but I signed up so I could share my enthusiasm for Madden's pro-tak technology. It's been an awesome place to read legitimate, sim-focused impressions and gave me a totally different perspective when playing sports games. Man, one of my favorite memories on here was the insane roller-coaster that was NBA Elite 11 and how the early optimism just completely shifted. I forget the developer that used to post here, but after it got canceled he posted about how passionate he was about the project and how heartbreaking it ended up being. The whole thing was so sad.
Here's to another 9+ years with you folks.Comment

Re: Longest standing members.
A correction here: OS and Maddenmania were two separate things. I was a member of both at the same timeMaddenmania / Digital Sports Mania merged into OS in 2009, I think.
OS itself dates back to like 1998 in some form or another, but the earliest join dates you'll see for anyone on the forums is summer 2002.
There was an NCAA Dynasty league before dynasty online was even close to a thing. It was done with memory cards and run through the forum with updates. I was around for that. Also was great for finding NCAA early release.Last edited by umd; 09-09-2018, 09:50 AM.Comment

Re: Longest standing members.
I made NCAA Football rosters from around 2003-2005 for the XBox. I remember getting anywhere between 10-20 memory cards in the mail each day, doing into the basement, and loading them up on every card, packaging them and mailing them out. It became quite an operation but I loved it.
Good times.

Re: Longest standing members.
I definitely remember Madden Mania until it became OS. I use to scour the boards for NCAA stuff and wait for rosters to be done. I also enjoyed reading BDawg's franchise write-ups, those were always the best and really would get me in to NCAA and do my own little write-ups. Man I feel old now hahaComment

I definitely don’t post as much as other vets, but I’m still lurking strong and wear my 1/29/05 join date with pride. Initially found OS looking for nba 2k5 sliders.

Re: Longest standing members.
OS and Maddenmania did merge, but that didn't happen till years later. I wanna say post 2010 but not sure about that. For a long time they were separate sites.
OS has been around since the late 90's. I lurked on the IGN sports board in the early 2000s, at some point they made it Insider only and a lot of people jumped ship, or just came here exclusively. There were 2-3 versions of forums here before this one, but this one started in 2002 so that's the earliest join date you'll see. Kinda remarkable the staying power of OS.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Longest standing members.
Hmm, I had been under the impression that OS split off from MaddenMania. Or did they originally split off from MM then absorb its parent (kind of like the Mountain West Conference did with the remnants of the WAC).
I'm guessing this merger may have happened in March 2009 (About 4 months before I got here) as that appears to be around the date when the member numbers jumped from the few 10's of thousands to over 10,000,000.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
