Honestly this is the best news i've heard all day. We're all praying and thinking of Amari. I literally woke up in the middle of the night last night and prayed a 2nd time out of the blue.

Fellas at 5:30p I went to Amari’s bedside and let the nurse know that I was going to be praying for my daughter. I knelt down on my knees and started praying. I asked God for forgiveness and said I’m standing in for my daughter. I told God you know the desires of my heart and told him thank you for her 20 years. I then said God I’m ready to send her home to you so her struggle would be over and her pain would be over. I said God we need sign if she was going to survive.

At 6:30 my wife and I decided to go back upstairs and take final pictures of our hands holding Amari’s for a future memorial in home. At the elevator I said to my wife Amber that it’s not over yet. Amber said “honey yes it is” I said yes honey it is. When we open the CICU doors her room is the first one that you see and several nurses and doctors are standing around her bed. The head surgeon looks at us and says “Looks like she’s up” My wife says what? He repeats and my wife drops to floor and the drs laugh and say please get up and get over here so you can see for yourself.

The dr said
1. Raise your right hand. She raises it.
2. He said turn and look at me. She turns and looks at him.
3. Pull the tube out of your mouth. “Of course she can’t but she brushes her hand weakly across her mouth.
4. Now don’t laugh. He says Amari show me your finger. She puts out her middle finger. The drs just start laughing. He meant a finger and we guess she heard the middle finger.

The surgeon looked at us in laughter and says I’ve got to confer with the team because we have to figure this one out. We broke out in tears of joy.

I’ve always said it’s not over till God says it’s over. We felt we gave our daughter to God and he gave her back. We don’t know what the future holds but the feeling we have now is nothing short of Amazing!!

Everyone thank you so much for your prayers because your prayers helped bring our daughter back.

Thank you all so much and please remember to hug your children and tell them you love them.

Such wonderful news! Even in the most dire circumstances a little levity was had. Just knowing that EVERYONE involved could laugh knowing that yes, there's a chance that things will get better. It's a long road but with the love of family and all those praying for her God will see it through.
