Yeah, unlimited storage on Prime is definitely great especially since I'm already a Member.

Do any of you guys use GIMP for photo-editing? It's been at least 15 years since I last worked with it, but I remember it being very rough around the edges. I'll have to look into Lightroom once I really get going. For now I want to find a good cloud/backup, but it seems like Prime might be the best option for me.

Do any of you guys have Instagram or Snapchats you post to regularly?

I do not have either for sharing.

Those are some great photos. It can be hard to get in close with some animals.

Another photo editing alternative could be Photopea.com

It’s essentially a free browser based Photoshop. I haven’t tried to edit any photos with it yet but it seems to have all the same functionality as photoshop

            Re: OS Photography Club

Like I mentioned, I use Adobe Photo CC or whatever they call it now. It is $9.99 monthly or cheaper if you buy the yearly price during sales, usually $100 or a little less for Black Friday.

Lightroom and Photoshop are included and you can do most things with those without really needing anything else.

For my purpose, I don't like how Lightroom or Photoshop handle HDRs though and Lightroom is a little lacking on the editing side to make some tweaks to the exposure, colors, etc.

I did a trial of Aurora HDR and Luminar Flex Plugin. They let you open the tools from Lightroom, make the edits and then bring it back to Lightroom and keep the nondestructive changes. HDR obviously produces a new file though.

            My workflow is this
            1. Import using Lightroom
            2. Review and delete any blurry or bad images
            3. Group HDR shots into groups to make editing easier
            4. Edit non-HDR shots using Luminar Flex and do batches to correct tones, maybe some noise tweaks, etc. I try not to do much here but slight tweaks using their AI settings.
            5. Process HDRs in Aurora.
            6. Review HDRs and fix any remaining detail issues in Photoshop. This is limited now as software has advanced and gotten better, you used to have to do more editing to remove ghost and help blending.
            7. Extract jpegs into Finished folder
            8. Publish raws and jpegs to Amazon for cloud backup
            9. Try to remember to backup locally on my drive

Photoshop I only use now to create things or really edit the image. The other tools are getting better to remove people, fix spots, etc.

Those of you who posted moon pictures (or has success taking them even if you haven't posted any) what lens are you guys using? And settings?

Any lens with a decent zoom will do, like 150X and above. They key is to make sure your ISO is very low. Like 200 or 300.

I have a lot to learn, will have to catch up on this thread. Here are some shots I took in Alaska a few weeks ago w/ my Canon 7d.

Nice shots. I've got a ton of humpback whales from Alaska. Got lucky on a terrible day, cold, rainy, but I was prepared. One of the few on the boat outside, but there was a bait ball and few in the area. I got some nice grizzly bear shots too, but chickened out on hiking by myself in Denali since no one else wanted too.

Hope you had a great trip.

Nice man, did you do any fishing while you were there? Makes me a bit homesick

No, just a 26 glacier cruise out of Whittier, hung out in Seward for a day, hit the Zoo and aviation museum (had never heard of the occupation of Attu!) in Anchorage and visited Independence Mine. Stayed in Palmer at a friend's house.

Next time we want to go on a fishing trip and hit Denali.

My first time there, was amazing.

                        These are Pixel 3 pics.

Yeah, it's difficult to capture how surreal the views are. More Pixel 3 shots.

First fall sports!! Our first friendly got moved to a local high school turf field due to rain the day before. It made shooting at night difficult. Anyways, here are my two favorite shots.
