Nice! I have the fenix 5. The wife surprised me with it for my birthday back in September. I had the Fenix 2 for a long time before that.

Mine would be that I completely changed my exercise routine and schedule - basically flipping it on it's head. When my wife started working daylight hours with her new job back in July I started getting up each morning at 6AM. The first thing I do is workout. It's amazing being able to get that out of the way first thing and not have to have it hanging over me the rest of the day. Previously, I would almost dread going home some days because I wasn't motivated to work out after work.

The biggest benefit, however, is I'm not getting to bed on at a regular time each night and getting at least 7 hours of sleep nightly. The difference between 6 and 7 hours feels huge now.

    That's awesome!

My biggest success hhis past year would be doing the Murphe challenge with a buddy of mine whose in the military. I picked up mountain biking going on 3 years ago now but didn't really start taking my fitness a little more serious until I did the Murphe challenge. Shortly after that I began doing the AX 1 program from Athlean X and at 43 I'm in as good a shape as I have ever been.

My goal for 2019 is to compete in an XC race or two.

      Re: 2019 Fitness Adventures

I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu around the end of October last year, and I've been enjoying it so far. I've been using it to supplement my lifting (I lift 3x a week and go to BJJ 2x a week), which is all I have time for with work and school filling up the rest of my schedule. I've been considering doing BJJ 3x a week and lifting 2x a week. I've definitely enjoyed it, but I've been getting my butt kicked almost every night this week. I heard that there's a steep learning curve and that it just takes time to get the feel for things. I'm focusing on being able to defend myself against chokes and getting proper positioning as opposed to focusing on submissions right now. Also, staying injury-free is absolute priority when it comes to this type of sport (I really can't afford to miss time from school).

My goal in 2020 is to become a blue belt and to maintain a consistent lifting schedule. No plans for competing yet (not until I graduate from grad school next year) because I can't miss time from school yada yada...
