    Definitely.

I just got a new battery, and tried it out on my bike. Didn't work. I don't know if it's because the leads are too corroded or internal parts have melted or something from being out in a hot garage, but I've blown about $80 on two new batteries that can't be returned, and now I'll have to either pay hundreds of dollars for service or thousands of dollars for a new bike. Ugh.

COVID-19 ruined my gym streak at 76 days in a row. Then 69 days of the gyms closed. Went back for a week and fell off, couldn't get in a groove.

My son started school last week, drop off, to the gym, shower, work. Back into a routine! Gained my weight I lost back, but down 5 pounds after a week. I also ordered a treadmill (nordictrack) base model and will be here Saturday. I'm not a runner, but walk at an incline. This will be nice to do before leaving the house in the mornings and even after work.

        Re: 2020 Fitness Adventures

Today I finish my 2nd month of doing cardio workout (I think that what it is) using a stationary cycle plus abdominals. I have been going 1 day in, 1 day off. I decided to stay with cardio/abdominals for a while to get in a routine and not add anything else because I have "started" doing exercises before only to lose interest when I get too bogged down.

In two days I'm moving to a new phase with a dumbbells/bodyweight routine for beginners. I will combine the upper body workout of this routine with my abdominals routine and combine the lower body workout routine with my stationary cycle routine.

Sounds like a lot (at least to me), but I'm taking it slow and I'm already feeling confident from my first 2 months.

this year I managed to get rid of excess weight. I used a lot of beneficial exercises. I can't imagine my life without fitness.

Big development in my fitness routine - I added another bike to my collection! This one is a fat tire bike, and while you can ride it year-round, it definitely excels in the snow. So yes, I'll be doing a lot more outdoor riding this winter. My first few rides on the bike have been a blast; it's like an adult version of a big wheel bike! It's a beast, weight-wise, but it needs to be for what you're asking it to do. That said, in non-snowy conditions, you can still get some good speed on it.

What I also like about the fat tire is that in many ways, it stands in contrast to my gravel bike, so I'm getting 2 different riding experiences and that's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm also finding a way to get 2-3 days of strength training in, and that's been nice to add back to the schedule. Still running, but biking has taken a little more of a personal preference at this point.

Has everybody gone back to the gym? I haven't been since March, partly out of caution and partly out of laziness. When my gym reopened, they touted all of the safety measures they've taken. Thinking about finally going back in.

My exercise regimen is jogging 1.0-1.5 miles every other day (eventually want to ramp this up to 2 miles) with 150 pushups (3 sets of 50) and 133 bicep curls (4 sets of 33, weird number, I know) with 20 pound dumbbells in the days in between. I plan to ramp up the pushups and bicep curls to 200 a piece. Not the most strenuous of work-outs, but it works for me. Goal is to stay nimble rather than be super-buff or anything.

Hats off to the people on here who are able to do 3 to 5 mile runs. I just don't have the lung capacity for it, it seems like, even though I've been jogging for years.

I've mentioned this a bunch before, but ever since the fires hit here and since I still can't ride my bike, I've been absent of any workouts for about three months now. It's sad, because I was doing so well! I'm way too busy now with school to get my time in though. I haven't even turned on my PS4 in forever, except to try out Maximum Football 2020 when that came out. Otherwise, it's been off... as has my exercise routine.

Yea I'm back in the gym. Haven't been able to ride the mountain bike much because of hurricane Laura. Have started gravel riding but will probably be 2021 before any trail riding on local trails.

Lots of excuses in this thread. Make it a priority...everyone has time. You don't need an hour plus to train peeps. Be better.

Running cuts nearly two hours out of my time (especially if I’m driving somewhere to run) and completely changes my eating schedule. During distance learning, I feel like I’m working 12-14 hour workdays sometimes with everything involved. That’s absolutely no joke.

I’ve played my PS4 only a couple of times since the beginning of the school year, and that was right after purchasing Maximum Football 2020. That’s how busy I’ve been.

I’d love to get that bike up and running, though. My excuse there is it would be far too costly.

Yeah, I don't really have any excuses, I'm just feeling uninspired and lazy lately. That's hard to overcome.

I'm not going to pretend like I didn't lose motivation, though. The fires took me out of being able to go outside and run, and I was close to breaking a 5-minute mile again. Probably just a month away.

But going back to the first time I started running again a couple of years ago and broke that 5-minute mile (I posted about it in the 2018 thread I guess), I was running during my prep period at school... on the high school track... where P.E. classes were running and calling me out and such. I mean that was literally the only time that I had.

Welp, my water heater broke Friday and won't be replaced till Tuesday. Took a cold shower yesterday after being outside at softball practice for a few hours so I was naturally warmed up already, but this morning I was not about to hop into a cold shower with a cold body.

Given the Thanksgiving break I have, this was a perfect excuse for me to be able to get in a 2.5-mile run. Ran it, ran right into the shower, and although it was a bit cold upon entry it felt right being all sweaty, and a few minutes later I got used to it to the point I could've been in there for 20 minutes if I wanted to (only stayed in there for eight minutes but whatever haha). I got 16:48, which speaks of my "out of shape-ness" given that I was running a 5K (~3.1 miles) only three minutes longer than that. I'm 4% slower on a 20% shorter run. No good haha but natural I suppose.

I guess I'm going on a run again tomorrow since I'd like to take another shower haha.

Better time today at 16:17 (about a 6:31 mile average). Can't wait to get hot water back tomorrow though, haha.
