This or That: Target or Walmart

Where do you like to spend the most of your money? Is it Target with their lovely products or Walmart with their low, low prices.

I shop at both. But Target is my favorite.

I loathe Walmart. Not really them as a whole but going into one. They’re all so messy and unorganized IMO. Not too mention there always seem to be the worst element in there [emoji2375]

Dollar General, when I have a dollar
America's Thrift Store, when I don't, 'cept when I need TP
then I always splurge and get that from the Dollar Gen. never wanna buy TP from the thrift store again

but when it comes to Walmart & Target, Walmart, because there are so many around here. there's probably 10 Walmarts to 1 Target around here.

also, here in Bama, Dollar Gen is like Starbucks anywhere else: one on every other street corner

I haven't been to a Wal-Mart unless I've had to, so I guess Target. I have other first choices than those for my shopping needs, though.

Wal-Mart always seemed to have more of a selection than Target to me, especially their Super Stores that also have the grocery section.

Re: This or That: Target or Walmart

I've spent a total of $0 at Target in my entire life.....because Canada never had Target (except for that small period of time...but we dont talk about it).

I haven't even been to Walmart since December. Part of it is because of the pandemic, but other part is just not needing to shop there either.

I think Amazon has has more of my business simply for convenience. I hate online shopping at other stores because they have the "spend at least X to qualify for free shipping". I don't need that many things when I'm shopping there, and don't want to wait weeks or months until I have so many things.

Amazon I could literally just order a pack of toothpaste and get it with free shipping asap. No need to wait until I have a $50 cart of items.

This is my main reason for going into Wal-Mart most of the time. Usually it's during the 3-4 store month to two month shopping.

I rarely go into Target unless looking for something in electronics or a sale tbh.

                    There's no peopleoftarget.com, lol.

Almost all of my non-grocery items come from Amazon, but I'll occasionally go to Target because there's one near me. I worked at a Target while in college; it was alright.

I have to pack a lunch (psychologically) to convince myself to go to Walmart. Haven't been to one since mid 2019. The one where I live is super locked down, and you have to call for assistance to unlock a cabinet to buy common things like hammers and measuring tape. Which, there's zero chance I'm asking an employee for assistance. It's definitely a mood based decision on whether I go or not lol.

Naa. I would consider Sam’s in line with BJ’s, Costco, etc…

Sounds like the CVS just down the street from me. They've got laundry pods, some (but not all) hand lotion, some (but not all) deodorant, toothbrushes, batteries, and more locked up. The funny thing is, with some of the stuff (batteries for instance) they have those things that prevent you from sliding them off the rack, but all you have to do is tear the cardboard packaging above the hole that slides over the rack to get it off. For the other stuff, unless I have a coupon I'll just get it at Rite Aid or Giant Eagle instead.

Sam's Club is a totally different customer base and shopping experience then Walmart though. Night and day difference when it comes to experience. I shop more on Amazon then anything. There is no Target up this way except for in New York. Walmart is 10 minute drive down the road. Shopping at Walmart has always been a last resort thing for me. Far as stuff being locked down in Walmart, that is because way too many of their customer base steal and they would rather spend money one time on a boat load of locks instead of hiring security.

Been to a couple of Walmarts where they even have socks and underwear locked up. The few near me have press on nails, cell phone charger cords, cell phone cases, cell phone screen covers locked up. Then they have spider wraps on their TVs, printers, dvd players, blu-ray players, microwaves, blenders, air fryers, the expensive lego sets, certain action figures, crossbows, car stereos, car battery chargers. Not to mention they have all their movies in those plastic cases. I always felt bad for the Walmart workers because it usual just be one of them having to cover 3 or 4 different departments by themselves going back and forth having to unlock stuff off the hooks all day long. Seeing them having to take spider wraps off a 75 inch tv box is a trip to see.

Far as Target, I only been inside of Target maybe just twice in my entire life and that was way before they even added a grocery section to their stores. Target just never did appeal to me. When I want food I just go to a dedicated grocery store, same thing with clothes and everything else really. That one stop shop thing always annoyed me a little bit because yeah they would have said item, but not the brand I prefer. Certain things I prefer certain brands.
