You need to lose this Winfixer pop-up from the site like a hot chick needs to lose herpes. In other words, really fast. It makes visiting this Forum, let alone posting, a major pain in the azz and borderline offensive with all the damn pop-ups.
I still don't see it!! Gotta love FF + Adblock code.
That flyswatter ad was what threw me over the edge. Ever since then, I've been ad/popup free! Sounds like this one is just as annoying.
But I shouldn't have to install an additional component to my browser just to visit the forums and try to navigate thru pop-up hell. Banner ads and pop-up ads don't bother me, but when an ad wants to install a program on my PC if I accidentally press the wrong button, that is where I draw the line.

No you shouldn't. Steve has already contacted the appropriate people and I'm sure the problem will be resolved in the near future. It's out of the mods/admins/Steve's hands as to what ads are run on the site and unfortunately some really annoying one's are.
I'm not making excuses, but rather giving people the option to get rid of it right now. That code will work on multiple sites, not just OS. I haven't seen a popup or banner ad on the internet in approximately 1 year with FF and that Adblock code. Can't live without it.

It's all good...I am not trying to start something and I have the utmost confidence that all avenues are being pursued to remedy the problem. I am just extremely leary of installing anything that could possibly open any backdoors or other exploitations to the browser that are avoidable, and others should be just as hesitant and do their homework on what they are installing as well. Downloading additional plug-ins/programs are not always the cure-all.
