I posted some of this in studbucket's forum style thread a few weeks ago, but it's probably better off here.

Since it seems like most of the major technical issues have been resolved, I have some quality of life things. Most of them are first-world things, but I'll point them out anyway.

    1. I don't know if this is a bug or not. When I first come to the forums, the URL is this: https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/ and the page looks pretty nice overall:

    OS.png

If I go into a forum (Madden in this case) and then click the "Forum" link in the top left:, I get the following URL: https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/forum (note the extra forum on the end). And then the forums just look cluttered to me with all the subforums.

    OS_2.png
The main forums and lasts posts no longer really stand out to me. It just feels cluttered.

    2. More complaining about subforums. I'm using the Madden forum as an example, because it's probably the worst. But if I go into the Madden forum, I'm probably looking for the most recent posts. But I get hit with this:

    OS_3.png
I have a whole page of subforums I have to scroll past (again, first-world problems, I know).

    Then a wall of stickies:

    OS_4.png

It's a lot of scrolling just to get to the info I'm looking for. It would be nice if there were drop-down menus where we could minimize/maximize things we want to see.

    3. Is it possible to have something similar to this at the top and bottom of each thread to navigate? Right now, at the top you have to type in the page number to get to the last page in the thread. At the bottom, you can just click, which is better. But I think something like below would be ideal.
    OS_7.png

It may just be a me thing, but I don't find the forums as enjoyable to browse as before, even though there are a lot of great improvements (inserting images, ala this post, being one of them) with the new board.

This is great feedback and I'll relay it over to the engineer. We are deep into a few other fixes currently, but will definitely look into these.

Bumping my question. I don't want to create a big list of feedback and issues if a number of things are being fixed. But if you're ready for it, there's a lot of small bugs or quality of life things I have feedback on. I've been making more posts lately and there's a few things that are harder than before.

I logged in for the first time in about a month today, just to see if anything was better.

I see that my Tiger's dynasty page STILL does not have any posts after April 8. And the same with my BLOG. Nothing after April 8th.

      This is f*cking ridiculous.

Did you actually click on the thread?

I see posts on April 30. It doesn't re-sort the threads based on the most recent post from the additions, but they are in there if you actually click on it.

So just noticed when looking back on some of my older franchises. Pictures missing. The old albums form the site have gone, along with user cp. Any idea if we will get these back? I'm guessing this is a no. Its a pity, one or two of my favorite chises are now imageless.

So, it appears these posts are there now (they were not there when I made the comment a couple days ago.

HOWEVER, there is nothing on my BLOG after April 8th, and when making a new blog post, there is still no option to turn on HTML.

Using HTML in blog entries is a big part of how I do my dynsasty tracking. This site is all but USELESS without it.

            Like I said, it's F*cking ridiculous.

It won't hurt to summarize what you've found, for sure. I have a list that will slowly get worked on as time permits, so feel free and thank you.

Can you link to them so I can take a look at where the images were specifically? They might have moved to a new location and we just need to make it point in the right direction.

So many replies I could have sent here, but anyways.

Blogs were not used much on the old forums, but you are the first person to bring up the issue, so it's on the radar now. We'll need to look into enabling HTML in blogs as well. Some things are out of our control and some things are just broken until we get to it. This one in particular was not on our list of known issues. So thanks for bringing it up, but it's not a promise that it can be resolved.

Steve - this may have already been asked, but why does it take 5 seconds when you use the Back arrow button on your browser to return to previous screen in many cases? It seems as if it depends on where in the thread you are and where you are trying to return to. What causes this?

Steve, any update on if the User CP thing is returning? I ask because it's really frustrating that we don't have a place to go to and know which subscribed threads we have or haven't read.

On the old site, User CP told us exactly what threads we haven't read.... And they all were grouped nicely together in one area.

Weird question but, in the old forums you could click on the post count of the thread and a window would open with all who replied and how many posts they made. You could then click on their number of posts and auto search for just their posts in that thread. Maybe I’m the only one who used it but in certain discussions there are certain opinions I gravitate toward. Is that coming back?

Hmmm, I'm not seeing that. Does it happen in multiple browsers?

Up at the top, click your username. Go to "My Profile", then the "Subscribed" tab. That's about as good as it gets with the new version as far as I'm aware. Anything other than that was a custom mod for the old forums that no longer work.

Hmmm, that is unfortunate..... In my Subscribed there is a ton of threads I did not Subscribe to and it's also showing different people on here in the Subscribe list.

I think the 'Posts' section uner 'subscriptions' is the actual threads you subscribed to while the 'users' section is threads that anyone you were 'friends' with on the old forums posted in.

Dang, you're hardcore. I actually had never seen that as an option previously. I poked around and don't see anything obvious that works that way. Sorry.

Unfortunately, some of the cool stuff that was in the old forums were coded by previous engineers or they were simply mods that no longer work in the new forum software. I know it's not what people want to hear, but we had to upgrade the forums sooner or later because they were slowly dying and we were running out of options on keeping it up and running. The upgrade isn't compatible with the old mods we used to run and they are so old that nobody updated them to work in the new forum package.
