I wouldn't pay for it... but I'd use it.

      Re: iPhone App

Alright. I've been working on this on my spare time for the last month or so. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. Remember this is my first time working with iPhone, so don't expect greatness.

App Goal: My main goal to begin is to push OS's exclusive content (ie: reviews, blogs, featured articles, and media). Right now that is my only plan, but depending on how people feel about the finished product, I would like to add more options to the app. Things like comments, forum integration, or any other options that OSers would enjoy on an app like this.

ETA: I have no expected finishing date, since it all depends how much free time I have when I work on this.

Status: I have the backbone to the app close to done, the interaction between all the screens are all working correctly. I don't have the server info (or even learned how to involve the server yet) so most of the info is hard coded. I did hard code it in a way that should make integration from reading the data from the server fit in fairly easy.

Right now I have the "screenshots" screen set up where you can scroll the picture. I will hopefully be able to implement a feature where you can zoom out and in on the picture. As well as just flick the picture to left or right to see the next or previous screen.

Pictures: I have set up an album in my arena that had a few screenshots of the app. http://www.operationsports.com/ty5ok...20-iphone-app/

Looks awesome! Keep up the good work.

        My suggestion:

The forum integration. That's where I think most OSers go when on their IPhone. But that's just my opinion.

        Good job so far!

          Thanks for the comments.

As far as the forum integration, that's something I definitely want to get in there. For now I'm just trying to keep it simple as possible so that I can actually have something to put out first.

Just saw the screenshots on your Arena page. WOW. Great stuff.

The video, was it playing from OS or Youtube?

                Thanks for the comments Steve.

Right now I added it from my own computer. I don't know how you guys store your videos on the server but I have it set up where it would just add a movie file from the server.

I did find out a pretty easy way to use the youtube videos where you can embed the video from youtube on the iPhone. Which could also be an option

Does OS post all videos on youtube as well? If you guys do, it may be easier for me to just embed those videos.

Yes, unless there was an issue when we upload it to OS, all vids go to Youtube as well.

I'm pretty sure it will be. I don't see a reason for him to use the phone or camera APIs for anything. I could be wrong though.
