It's not pent up frustration. It's not like I've been sitting here for the past few weeks steaming privately over the word **** being filtered, holding it in when I probably could have talked about it with someone just to get it out.

It is simply an annoyance, an abuse of power even as one poster put it, and leads down a slippery slope. I understand the filtering of vulgar words completely, but the filtering non-vulgar ones has absolutely no value on a message board except for laughs, and even I thought it was slightly cute in the beginning. It's old now though and it's ridiculous that the solution to a few people being annoyed by a few non-vulgar words is to annoy another group of people and cause confusion to people who are not in on the little inside joke.

I'm surprised h.a.t.e.r. got censored though I wouldn't have it be a permanent thing, more like a moratorium on the use of the word would be good.

BTW I object to censoring IIRC. I like to use that term a lot and it's a lot easier to go with the short form then typing out "if I recall correctly" all the time. Sometimes abreviations (sp) serve a purpose.

There should be a way on this board to show the meaning of abbreviations just by simply hovering your mouse pointer above it. I've seen it on other vB boards. Eh, that's a topic for another thread.

So you love that they act on their feelings or you love the decision discussed in this topic? Just because they do what they feel needs to be done does not mean it's the best decision. That's a pretty interesting reason to love something I guess.

That seems to be a universal trait among human society. No matter how mundane or trivial an action may seem to most people, there will always be a group of people who have an issue with said action.

I guess it's only a matter of time before LOL, LMAO, SMH, etc are censored too because they are overused on the Internet.
