I'd imagine that there is no sense in complaining about words being censored. I don't want to pretend to know Millennium's thought process with filtering certain words, but to me it seemed necessity due to people wildly overusing certain words, such as the e-word or the h word rhyming with gomer. I don't see it as much an attempt to stifle the vernacular trends of young people as much as wanting to create a forum for quality discussion, which just doesn't happen with the drastic overuse of words often with no consideration of the actual meaning of the word.

So you love that they act on their feelings or you love the decision discussed in this topic? Just because they do what they feel needs to be done does not mean it's the best decision. That's a pretty interesting reason to love something I guess.

So since you also care (as expressed by your professed love) you are taking this too seriously as well, in your opinion of course.

I think its great they block words for random reasons. Thats all that needs to be said. Im not going to care if they unblock everything.

You seem so focused on the fact I used the word love. Its just what happens when you talk to a guy with a limited vocab. I could have used like or any other number of words but love is the one that came out. Oh well. All I intended to do was show support for the filter, not discuss it. Even if you break this post down and over analyze it, Im not going to respond anymore.

I'm sorry, this is the area of the forums where people can voice their issues with the forum and/or website in general correct? I thought it was. If not, can we get a mod to move this thread to the correct support area. Whether it's trivial or not really has no bearing on anything. Us spending time on this website at all can be considered trivial. We're here anyway.

You deserve to voice your opinion but lets not turn this into anything more than that. As you're suggesting here, if you don't like some of the responses, unless they're directed specifically at you, you can just ignore them.

anyway.. i dont see whats causing the shenanigans, its really not a big deal. i like to use the E word occasionally, but its not like i NEED to use it. if its censored just find another word, whats the big deal? expand your vocabulary

There's no need for me to chill out Dre as I am not up in arms. Use of sarcasm doesn't mean I'm sitting here fuming. I'm just being sarcastic is all.

Also, the extent of my vocabulary is not the point. The point is how far are we going to take this? How many words are going to end up being filtered just because a few people get annoyed by seeing them? Why can't those people just get over it?

I'm college educated with a vocabulary large enough that I don't have to use any of they censored words. I just think that censoring words because you personally don't like them is an abuse of power. That's all I was saying about it. There's any number of words that could get censored in the future. If you're trying to be taken seriously as a forum, censoring random words probably doesn't help that goal.

I think it's just something that identifies the site. You either get it or you don't. OS is a clique, whether you do or don't see it that way. This is just an OS inside joke.
