As much as I loved the OT thread, I'd rather it just be closed and we move on than banning a bunch of people who I really respect around here just to have it open.

I'm sorry, I understood that. What I didn't/don't understand is why when it was re-opened and the warning of instabans was issued for those who couldn't abide by TOS, why the thread was locked instead of posters banned/warned/post deleted/all of the aforementioned.

Thats what I don't understand.

I didn't know anything about instant bans in the OT. PM the mod that posted that and ask. That being said is the OT worth people getting banned when Twitter has no TOS?

A fraction of OS members use Twitter, and the character limit sucks. It's sort of the same-ish, but not really.

And why should a thread be closed in order to protect people from being banned? Shouldn't it be the posters responsiblity to abide by the TOS and not get themselves banned? Everyone agreed to the TOS when they signed up.

It's based on the mods discretion. Contrary to popular belief I like to give guys a chance or two depending.

This is going to be the end of the discussion. This thread is just going back and forth.

The thread went completely off the rails for the 2nd time in a week. Like said earlier, you guys need to police that place yourselves. Mods sleep, wake up with tons of reported posts and a thread that is the OT that breaks TOS over and over again.

Should long term members be banned over it? Maybe, maybe not. The call was made to not ban them but to close the thread. Yes, a few can ruin a "good thing". That's just the way it is.

Will the OT thread come back? Who knows. That's still in the discussion stages. But 2 times having it closed in just over a week isn't a good sign for it's return anytime soon.

This will now be locked. Any further discussion about this can be taken offline with a PM to any orange mod or Millennium.
