we've had a major spam fest in the NCAA Football forum since about 7:30, tried reporting but nobody has cleaned it up yet.

Do "we" have any legal actions against these guys if this continues on the pace it has started this season? The mods have done a good job of minimizing the damage, and I know "we" are big on leaving threads to help the search function, but many of our forums are being crippled by that decision and maybe "we" should look into full deletes of topics until this garbage calms down.

It's much more helpful if you report the threads than posting here.

Understand - if you hit that red triangle with exclamation point on the thread in question, we can get to it much faster than making a vague post back here.

I'm all for reporting, but when it takes a solid minute and a half for a report to go through, it makes me really not want to go that route.

I've reported numerous spam threads. I know how that works. I just wanted to state that these spam attacks are getting out of control and if you guys have anything in the plans to slow these down in the future.

I completely agree. It takes less time to create 10 spam threads than it does to report 1.

So your other option is to post in a thread where all the staff isn't monitoring and they can only have access to it when they are on the site...

Meanwhile, you can hit the report button and we all are notified of it a short while after. The alternative is a better solution?

I'm here to help but what you're offering doesn't make sense to me. You're willing to complain about it but you admittedly don't want to report? Huh?

We are working on ways to combat it but if we need your assistance and you're not offering, then it's up to us. Your call on that one but the tools are there.
