Re: The Operation Sports Terms Of Service
From the TOS:
New User Posting
All new users have a 'probationary period' in which they will not be able to create new threads or send private messages to other users. You must reply to threads until this period is finished. The period is a set number of days AND a set number of posts. These numbers are not disclosed, as we do not want people posting just to get past their probationary period.Comment

Re: The Operation Sports Terms Of Service
i understand that it's to prevent spamming, but it's pretty discouraging for new users. i post frequently on some other forums that probably aren't extremely interested in me updating my madden franchise there. i figured i would do that here, but waiting an undisclosed amount of days and having to force some posts in random threads just to be able to create a thread is pretty annoying.Comment

Re: The Operation Sports Terms Of Service
What is considered "Religious Talk"?
I see lots of posts where "God" is mentioned or "prayer(s)" or "heaven" or something similar and it leaves me a little confused about what the TOS is actually saying since these posts do not (and I'm not saying they should) draw any attention from moderators.
It leaves the impression that either A) it's only acceptable to discuss the Abrahamic God or B) you can discuss what you believe as long as it is passive. I'm not sure if either represents the intent of the TOS though.
Just wondering what the TOS is saying is unacceptable.
Thank you.Comment

I know that personally, I usually consider whether or not a post is proselytizing, debating/promoting/insulting the merits of a belief/doctrine, etc...
In my eyes, we're a community. If someone shares a tragedy from their personal life and people respond "I'll pray for you," I don't see that as a problem. Some people will say they're "sending good thoughts" or something akin to that instead.
In the past, I have asked posters to remove bible verses from their signature, or overt statements of a specific faith in the past.
I guess it comes to down to don't preach, don't convert, don't attack. Calling a game the "mecca" of something or saying that it's "heaven" are more colloquial than religious, to me at least.
That being said, that's just how I have always handled it. That's not how every mod/admin might see it.Comment
