Just for my own curiosity, can someone give me an example of a "definie game killer" from the past?

My example would be World Series Baseball 2K something where there was no manual fielding... all automatic. Was that a game killer?

Isn't a game killer when Randy Moss has on the wrong style of shoes?

I don't know if I would even consider that to be a game killer, in the classic definition. While the suto-fielding did pretty much reduce the game to a batting and pitching simulator, I wouldn't say that it rendered the game unplayable, which is pretty much what it has to be for me to consider it a "game killer".

The real "game killer" about it was that Sega didn't inform everyone that auto-fielding was the only option in the game before it came out. So, everyone was shocked and pissed off to no end when they bought and played it for the first time. It seemed like a real underhanded move by Sega at the time, especially considering how much people were looking forward to the game.

at someone considering the lack of multiplayer franchise, which would be used by maybe 3% of the buying population, to be a game killer.

                              3%?

That's a pretty generous percentage. I'm willing to wager that the percentage of people that use multiplayer franchises is less than half a percent.

Now, online multiplayer franchises, that would be entirely different...
