I swear it kept the custom tactics when I downloaded the most recent squad. I thought for sure they'd be lost but it looked like it was tied to my Profile instead of my squad file.

I'll have to test again tonight, maybe I wasn't using the newly downloaded squad.

In past years it was insanely odd, as it was tied to your squad file and your profile. Your tactics were saved using your profile, but assigned to the squad file. However, unless we're both crazy, it looks like this year they don't need reassigned with a new squad file.

That's fantastic news.

Still, for anybody already well into a career (like me), I wouldn't bother with starting over just to do add these to all the teams. It's a pretty painless 10 seconds when you start a match to edit the CPU's tactics.

Besides, Krebstar has given us a good starting point, but his efforts will (by design) prove to be far from perfect. I'd rather tweak the CPU's tactics manually before the start of a match, as I continue to learn/adapt to FIFA 15's different sliders within tactics. They seem to be quite different than previous versions of FIFA.

Yeah, this year more than any in the past, these are certainly nowhere as near perfect as they could be. I wish they behaved like they did in the past, but that would just be too damn easy.

I think I'm probably in the minority here though in my feelings about FIFA 15's CPU tactical behavior. I think the FIFA 15 CPU is more fluid, unpredictable, and downright HUMAN-like than any other FIFA iteration ever, and it's not even particularly close. That doesn't mean changing their tactics is a bad idea. I just think the fixes to CPU "team mentality" or psychology or real-time responses to what's happening on the pitch are pretty impressive this year. If we can get the nuts-n-bolts "on paper" tactics ironed out a bit, it should be even better, especially insofar as getting Norwich to not play like Swansea.

I cannot find a way to do this on last gen as there is no edit team sheets & any tactics you change have to be assigned to the d pad meaning you can only edit 4 teams tactics,did it with arsenal villa chelsea & palace then Everton I had to overwrite arsenals & when I went into arsenal tactics they were now playing with custom Everton.

Interested to try these out, I enjoyed your work in 14. Quick question. If you went the route of creating a team sheet for each type and import it, would not not end up importing the Formation as well?

Im having problems getting these too work. Before I start a CM, i went into edit squads>>>>team sheet>>>> tactics, and then>>>> custom tactics. I pressed 'X' and the custom tactics folder had the green tick....And then I edited all the sliders for the tactics as you mentioned in the OP

I then started my career with Spurs and downloaded updated squads

When into the game and when I went into my tactics in game, the edits were gone! Is this because I updated squads?? Can someone do a step by step, Ima bit of a nooob

When you start your career, you choose "Current Customized" rosters.

So I am doing it right in terms of editing them, but when I start my career I dont update the squads?? I just select current customized rosters? Is that correct...So I am actually editing them correctly??

Yes exactly.

But to get the best out of the package, download the latest updated rosters first, edit those tactics, then select current customized rosters so you don't go in with outdated rosters

Do teams actually play the long ball that are designed to with these tactics?

Will you actually lose the possession battle against Arsenal or Barca?

Not to the same extremes as they would in past years. Specifically in terms of losing possession, it depends on what difficulty you play at.

One other thing I forgot to note in the first post, is that as in past years, the more realistic you play, the more realistic the AI will play. For example, if you try and contain players and shut down passing lanes, they won't just run straight at you all the time. But, if you charge in for each tackle and find yourself watching players run past you after you try and make a tackle, you're going to have a bad time and no custom tactics will give you a more realistic feel.

I went and checked last night with the latest squad update and all my custom tactic settings were gone!

What I did notice however is my Team Sheets were saved, i.e. I setup a few custom Spurs Team Sheets for Europa & League cup matches and they were still present, although the edits made to each teams "custom" tactic were gone.

I guess this is a non issue if you can edit the CPU custom tactic in CM prematch, I wasn't aware that was possible.

Anyway, I want to use them, but I'm three games away from finishing my first season with Leicester. Will I be forced to start a new career or can these be implemented to my current career somehow?

Apparently you can at least input your opponents tactics in before each game. Therefore you can keep playing your current CM without starting over.
