I agree with the notion that training is a bit overpowered. I've tested a bit and it feels like the player progression is way too fast when focusing training exclusively on one player. Also, what I find most unrealistic about training thus far is that individual training doesn't have any stamina implications!
I'm not gonna start a real manager career until after one or two rating updates, in the hope that they add the missing players and raise/lower a couple of players I find to be a bit 'off' right now. When I do, I think I'm gonna set myself a couple of rules for player training:
1) I will be simulating all the training as I feel at some point you could master most of the skill games and achieve unrealistic growth (plus, who has the time/will to play skill games 260 times a season)
2) During the regular season (i.e. primarily outside the transfer windows) I'll only be training players once a week, meaning I'll be using a maximum of 1 slot per player per week (unless they are in the Youth Academy, then anything goes)
3) Players may undergo training until their 25th birthday during the regular season (I know most players peak around 27-28, but I feel like that will be too long to keep training them in order to keep their ratings within reason by letting the games' natural progression system take over)
4) During transfer windows, pre-season tournament, and breaks for international play, players 22 years or younger may undergo training 2-5 times a week
