I downloaded the patch (PS4) and can't say I notice much a difference at all. Except the radar being fixed, thank god!

Definitely need to play more to see if there's more subtle adjustments, but all this talk of it playing faster, that's not what I'm experiencing on PS4.

not sure. give it a try

there is definately something strange after this patch regarding speed/inertia/weight and the passing with the gameplay like mentioned before. and agree, the cpu did more of those quick-attacks instead of ball-posession, but not sure if it was the opponents-tactic or not.

ha, maybe it's related to overclocking on pc...the higher you overclocked, the faster the game is now

No you cant, I tried it. The game freezes before the match screen appears..

For those interested to play pre patch version of the game on PC, I can tell you it is not straightforward.
It is not as easy as copying a backup of the version you want to play in the Origin Games folder and turning Origin off line. Somehow yesterday, I managed to launch the pre patch version of the game after doing various steps in an order that I am not able to remember... I managed to launch several time the pre patch version. Today I have struggled to launch the version with the patch back. Basically, I had to repair the game to be able to launch it instead of being locked in the first setting window. Finally, I have tried again this afternoon to relaunch the pre patch version unsuccessfully... I have now none of the versions that want to launch and I am in the process of repairing the current/post patch version.
As an exclusively off line player, I am a bit disappointed because I made the jump from PS4 to PC for two main reasons: 1) the possibility to mod the game which is still in its infancy since the jump to frostbite 2) to be able to play the version/patch version of the game I prefer which is fairly easy with earlier fifa titles (ie:16).

If someone on PC knows a procedure to follow to play off line a not up to date version of FIFA18, I would be extremely grateful if you could share it with us.

today i started fifa and created a new custom tournament, played a match and everything felt normal, like in the demo/release version. hmm, strange, strange.

so, it doesn't seem to be the gameplay which changed with the new patch but there seems something buggy going around.

Yeah, and I have to add a bit to this. I've said that the kick off match fixed this for me. And it did. But it has happened to me again a couple of times since then. I'm getting some great slow games then the game will randomly switch to the awful speedier gameplay . Then the next day everything is fine again.

No one reported this on consoles so it must be a strange PC bug.

I'm also interested in an answer to papinho's question above however. Just in case. There are probably many more patches to come for better or worse

btw, one of the best locale.ini modding so far

FORCE_REGIONALIZATION_COLOR=0

...it removes this annoying washed-out-color-like filter from the stadiums.

Hey guys, I can confirm this happening on PC too. Does playing a normal kick off match resolves this?

Not sure anymore. First time seemed like it helped but last time I tried the kick off match it played terrible as well. Tried dx12, tried dx11, tried various vsync options, but can't seem to find a cause.
Last time it happened I even tried a fut match, and even though it's at normal speed it played better! So there's some bug for the offline modes only I think. Happens randomly and fixes it self randomly. It's extremely annoying. Shutting down the pc and sleeping for 8 hours seems to work though, lol.

That's really frustrating. Ugh. If anyone manages to fix it, please let me know. My matches had been really crappy recently.

Just saw it.
There's a new update, downloading now.
It's only about ~300mb and it says "stability improvements" so maybe it fixes this.

(Nope, not fixed. Happened again for me. Slow speed lasted 1 match + 1 half.
This bug is even funnier when the 1st half plays ok and the 2nd at double the speed).

hmm, hard to say, the inertia/weight feeled correct in the last matches, but maybe it's bit faster as i have it in mind from the demogameplay. constantly switching teams aswell, i'm sure players like messi are much more agile and faster in body-movement, but shouldn't be the whole match, he is not always super-agile during 90 minutes.

for gamemode 'Slow' it's still too fast.

anyway, something else about gameplay. does the AI pretty much like hitting the post/cross-bar? In 2 matches i had 4 hits on the post, 3 from AI, 1 from me. I also feel the passing, when you don't look at your teammate (you walk or run towards the goal) and then make a quick pass back to your player behind you without moving your body. that pass is super accurate.
