back in 2008-2012, the timeperiod where graphics got better, animations got more realistic, it was cool to watch these stuff or those goalcompilations on youtube. nowadays, it's simply too much...it's overdone.

Actually, they need to implement a system, which tracks these 'goal of the years' of a player and if you made one of these goals, the chances you make another one should still be present, but very very low...just like in RL. No Player in RL makes 5 'DreamGoals' in one season.
Ewwwwww! Criminy they just keep coming up with ways to keep me from buying their games. I was thinking that with the La Liga and Champions league improvements, and nothing much else changed, moving to 19 probably won't bother me so much, but seeing things like that replay makes me want to spend 60 bucks on NBA2K19. Most game now are designed for the spectacular plays, and what we see on Saturdays and Sundays are not being replicated with much faith. I usually go easy on the developers except when they take features out, as I think the sports crowd also has to realize that 'great ideas', which often are just 'what i see on TV', may not be as easy to program (like being able to program 'human error' on the field or pitch at an acceptable rate for the player involved). But seeing animations like that AND the frequency of these spectacular goals in real time really make me question how much QC goes into the release and why I should spend my money on a product like this.

That said, these are the things the beta testers should be pointing out but I'm doubtful such cartoonish flexibility is going to be something they can eliminate/correct at this stage of the development process.

Someone said a couple of pages back that animations have improved, although they have not completely eradicated these issues.

I'm hearing a lot of good stuff. Slower game, team tactics that work, etc. Normally I should be excited, but like many people point out, it's all a few tweaks/single bad patch away from going backwards. I hope that sooner rather than later EA introduce a sim/arcade switch or otherwise separate the offline gameplay so that we can regain some confidence in the series.

The fact that there's an option to turn off timed finishing is a good thing, hinting to that direction.

Seeing the new controls: Is there no more possibility to do a low (driven) finesse shot?

an offline/sim/arcarde switch would be great, but the built-in sliders could also operate as a similar function, u know, presets which you can download with some more in-depth slider-settings.

right now, the best way too play a more simulation-based fifa18 is to download Doctor+ AGPE gameplay patches for PC. I wouldn't be playing fifa18 without it anymore...but even there you still have to play with some sliders. IDK, but for me everything, movement, running is all way too fast, but maybe it's just me liking slow gameplay?!

I think there's a way. To do a header into the ground they switched it up too. It's annoying but i think it's rb + lb if i remember right. The driven shot is most likely the same since they were both the double tap that is now the new stupid shot that they added.
