The good sign to me is that the biggest complaint from people on here is the speed and lack of build up. Both of which should be easy fixes in the full version. Adjusting game speed and increasing the match length will slow the game down and add build up.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm noticing a depressing trend with both football games this wrong.

It's like they are programming the CPU to play like spammy (sprint, 1-2 pass, through ball, sprint, 1-2 pass, through ball) competitive eSports players and not like actual football teams. **** that.

You can slow the game down with your own posession it almost forces you too just to take a breath

I agree, the pace and the game feels fine only when you have the ball. The AI will get tiring soon I fear.

I'm thinking the same. It's like playing against an online player from fifa18 at times. In the past the AI tried to play more realistic football, but some people thought it was easy. If this is trying to make it harder then I don't know if I like it.

It's great that it's so much better and fun on the ball this year, but slow speed better be slow, and the pass error slider better be able to make miracles happen, which I kinda doubt.

Also I've been playing 10 minute halves today (it's possible to unlock on pc), and my last three games ended 3-4, 6-4, 4-3 (on legendary and WC). Most of the goals from crosses/headers (seriously it's like fifa14 all over again) or short passing tiki taka, so offensive mechanics are still way OP.

yeah, ai seems stronger but it doesn't really have something to do with a soccer-game, more like some online-games, be quick in passing and forwarding. Now they introduced a new stamina-system where it punishes you for constant pressing, so the AI could easily play ball-posession and play the ball in their own half if you start pressing too much.



idk, is there even a difference between a 4min-half vs 10min-half in terms of playstyle or shooting-accuracy/error-rate or something? The half-time length could be an indicator how 'slow and tactical' an AI-Team plays. I would say, for a 4min-half quick forwarding makes more sense than playing ball-posession and being tactical..but for 10min-halfs this quick forwarding-playstile doesn't fit anymore.

another new thing it seems like to me about FIFA19 demo i'm loving besides dribbling and skill moves is the breakaway pace and different player likeness. playing with certain players just feel so different compared to others.. mbappe feels like mbappe and neymar feels like neymar and you can feel the difference when controlling them

I'm afraid this is designed for 6 minute halves. Nothing changes with a bigger half length. Pass completion is almost always close to 90%, which was also the case with fifa16, but that was due to possession and realistic build up. It doesn't fare well in such an attack oriented game like this one. Too many goals, although if they nerf crosses we may see an occasional 0-0, lol. I'm sick of crosses already.

yep, crosses aka headers are OP. i also feel bit silly not shooting many goals in my first playthroughs, i tried it thru the center


i might have to re-consider my (bad) PES-2019 opinion, i really can't see me playing FIFA19 in a CM with this gameplay. My only hope is, FIDEL from Soccergaming may cook some hot stuff someday in the future. They definaetly added some cool new stuff in fifa19, but this' FUT-Gameplay' is really destroying it all.

I've been away on FIFA the past couple years, opting for PES. But man I'm really enjoying this demo, some things are off but still it's really nice.

Things I like:
- It's smooth, very smooth.
- It's not all clunky animations wise as I remember FIFA 16 as.
- Fatigue seems to really matter I noticed late into games sprinting in a breakaway with tired dudes just doesn't work.

Things I don't like:
- I don't really like the blueish tint for night games in CL games. Although it looks better than what night games I've seen look like in FIFA 17/18 where it looks away too dark.
- Game feels a little too fast needs to slow down a bit.
- I don't know how to explain it but the ball moves like a rocket with passes
- Sometimes I don't feel like i truly got full control of my player


Just gonna keep playing this still haven't decided which soccer game to get this year, but really enjoying this.


Question do they change the gameplay alot from the demo to the release one I keep reading something like that for FIFA 18

Yeah, it's always different. Demo is an earlier build. It's hard to say if it will be a lot different or not, sometimes a single tiny change can make or break a game. I would suggest checking for opinions when it's released, I'll do the same.

There's a bit of brilliance in both games, I grew up with pes (a cliche thing to say), and gave it a chance again recently, but the AI is just even worse. If fifa19 doesn't deliver in the end, I will be joining others for some retro pes/fifa gaming, lol

If EA nerfs a couple of things, speed drops down a notch, and sliders/tactics improve the game just a bit this could still be great.

it would be cool if they give the AI the same -disadvantages- if you choose manual gameplay. Their pass-quote of 90% is incredible. On manual passing my pass-quote drops to ~70%. the same with deep passes and shots, lobs and crosses.

Personally, I love it. The new tactical framework is a huge edition.

the sliders for passing f.e. are mostly -> lower chance of crosses but still high chance of low pass%. So, the higher you go, you just end up the AI won't be able to make any successfull crosses anymore.

Shooting-> the description says, it only affects regular shots, no volleys, no headers. aehm .

Why they never unbound all those stuff into seperate sliders, idk. it's probably more comfortable for the devs to use the slider-functions from years ago over and over again. IDK, when did they introduce sliders the first time?!

I'm, really torn on this game. Fifa 18 was garbage to me, even tho I played a ton of it, the gameplay, especially inside FUT was a disaster, after they patched it.

So far this demo is a lot of fun, but I still can't stand fifa ball physics, especially when you compare them to PES. In fifa, they just feel way too floaty to me. But so far I have liked what I have seen otherwise, and especially seeing the CPU hard as hell to score against (for me at least) on the higher levels, and that hasn't been the case recently. So I like the challenge.

I've been playing a lot of PES this year so far, and I really like it, but I always get both footy games, and that won't change this year. Fifas presentiation is also top notch. Love the CL implementation.

Also, if you have EA and Origin Access Premier...when does this game become available?

Wow, yeah this game feels completely different and there are so many changes. New commentators When I first played Fifa 18 one of the first complaints I had was they basically used the same commentary from previous games so to see they actually replaced the commentary team is already a welcome addition. I really like the ability of more customization of tactics on the fly it gives the game more life. The gameplay feels a lot heavier, and more realistic. The presentation looks better than ever. The skill moves feel more fluid and realistic, like I can't just juke one dude and have it feel like the entire defense is juked, it's more 1 v 1 based. I guess if there is one complaint I have so far is that the AI is really inept at scoring goals, like even if I play terrible defense they still struggle to score goals. It also feels too easy to stop crosses from getting into the box. So I've yet to give up a single goal. Obviously something that they'll probably look at fixing for the final release, but overall my feeling is good so far.
