The thing is though, each of those players still ran back towards their own goal to show that they gave a care. I understand the distinction of a role, but there is also just plain old common sense - which is what 21 lacked.

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again...
After a year of this being an issue I thought we'd finally stop defending EA and it's dumb decision to nerf midfield. Blaming the quality of player/league is no excuse for players stopping and watching the play unfold and being passive to the degree it was seen last year. Even the laziest midfielder would get in there and mix it up if left no other option but to help.
Either way it seems to be a non/less of an issue on '22 next gen at least. Hopefully sliders can help over come the issue even further.

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
I don't have the beta, but I'm curious for anyone that has played career mode, are the tables realistic? I know 2 years ago they were broken where you had to go undefeated to win the Premier League. They fixed it for FIFA 21, but just looking for confirmation that this is still the case for 22.Comment

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
Looks like I'm going to be playing the last gen version (on a PC which could easily play the current gen, but I digress) so I assume this is gonna mean two separate sets of sliders for each? Although I guess that depends on how many other last-gen suckers like me there are on here!Playing EAFC 24 (PC), WC, Slow SpeedComment

Dude you have to get a next gen console. Even if it's the Series S. It's a totally different game.Comment

However I also think that the gameplay will be similar in both versions (apart from the animations) and the two sets of sliders will also be similar.Last edited by fideco; 09-21-2021, 11:37 AM.Comment

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
Hello fideco I have to honestly say, I have had my new x box series x at home for 6 months and a friend of mine has the xbox one x and we played fifa 21 with the current sliders on both consoles, and I have to say on my next gen console it was somehow better how the cpu behaved, my buddies said that too
it can be that the EA game developers concentrate more on the next gen consoles
</pre>
so i saw it that way and also noticed while playing that the cpu on the next gen console behaved better or maybe i'm wrong .. what do you think ..?</pre>

Hello mate,
Cpu on NG performs better, no doubt about this.
It's a very common opinion
Starting tomorrow and in the coming days those who have signed up for EA early access will see for sure the differences between OG and NG.Comment

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
I'm on the full release on PC via EA Play Pro. Started a create-a-team career, as well as a player career.
The AI won't cross, and the midfielders do not track back at all on world class with default sliders... cm's adjusted to cover the center, drop back tactic etc. but nothing helps.
All the same issues that were in 21... The midfielders do that twitchy quick jog to maintain a straight line about 5 meters behind the ball controlling AI who is constantly in free space. AI wingers go back and forth in the corner, before eventually passing the ball back. Absolutely ridiculous to STILL see 5 guys just staring away as the opponent attacks the box.Comment

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
PS5, legendary, default sliders, slow game speed.
YES the CM’s do track back. It’s very noticeable as previously I’d have to switch to them myself to get them back and don’t feel I have to as much now. They often go back into your own box to cover, especially when the CPU is wide.
When the CPU is attacking centrally, the CM’s can still lack awareness at times but that could be down to individual players ratings etc.
It’s definitely an improvement.Comment

Re: Fifa 22 CM not tracking back again ???
I've played about 8 games on seasons and I really like the gameplay. It seems slow but more realistic. Regarding the topic, I think the cms do a good job of tracking back but I do have a hard time switching to the player I want to control more so than I did on fifa21
Goalkeepers seem a little bit overpowered in some situations. Particularly donnarumma catching pretty much every corner.
My biggest gripe is seasons matchmaking. I want to play as Everton and despite changing the settings to match my star level I constantly get matched with psg or another 5 star team. They did this on the ps5 last season but there's absolutely no need for it to be the case again this. I want to play as Everton, but have no chance against Messi, mbappe and neymarComment
