Just played my first game on XSX and not only did my CDM track back into the box, the AI crossed from the left flank as well.

This was legitimately the first piece of action that happened for me.

Tons of shots from outside the box by AI too (playing Man U and Bruno was letting them fly). Only downside seemed to be the keeper not looking interested in saving anything. Anything on target the AI is scoring

PS5, legendary, default sliders, slow game speed.

YES the CM’s do track back. It’s very noticeable as previously I’d have to switch to them myself to get them back and don’t feel I have to as much now. They often go back into your own box to cover, especially when the CPU is wide.

When the CPU is attacking centrally, the CM’s can still lack awareness at times but that could be down to individual players ratings etc.

It’s definitely an improvement.

Don't understand people saying keepers are too good. Clearly the worst keeping I've seen in a game for years. They barely save anything and I've upped their sliders. So bad.

The Fifa 22 old generation version is really crap..
The gameplay is heavily unbalanced, more than 21:
The attack phase always wins over the defensive one
The mantra of the cpu is pass-pass-shot
The cpu goes forward with an impressive run frequency even if in the sliders the relative value is 1/1: therefore there is no gameplay in the midfield.
It is almost impossible for the player to defend and not concede goals:
Because of the cpu fast paced ping-pong around the box.
Cpu shoots every moment from every position...

CM tracking back is really fake: they come back but don't make aggressive interceptions or pressing..They simply observe and don't participate in defensive action effectively

My advice is not to buy this version: it's equal if not worse than Fifa 21 as gameplay.

I won't be buying as I'm on pc. Played 22 for a couple hours to build my own club and stuff, then played a couple games on slow and it was unplayable.

Hello friend, I don't agree, hipermotion is about improving the animations, not the gameplay, intended as tactical movements of players on the field

I do believe hypermotion does improve gameplay. I agree it makes the animations a lot better which in itself improves gameplay but things like players moving into space & making better runs all come from hypermotion which improves gameplay.

After playing beta for a month I went back to 21, player two games and stopped because players just stood still, gameplay was night & day different between the two versions.

I'm a sliders editer since several years.

Fifa 22:
Two different sliders sets are needed: one for OG and one for NG.
I'm wrapping up the first one (W.C and Professional) and then will move on the second one on PS5.

A short video (PS4) where I tried to balance the gameplay of Fifa 22 Old gen focusing on more density in the midfield and a less forward oriented cpu.
Finally i see now horizontal and back passes from cpu... and not only forward and vertical passes in an obsessive way.
Unfortunately I've almost finished my 10 hour trial.
I will have to wait until October 1 to finish my current set.
Then I'll make a set of sliders for PS5.

The critical issues of the old generation can be limited.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the long shots an cross have almost disappeared (PS5 version) compared to Trial.
Can someone confirm?

I forgot to mention that I'm using my Beta Professional Strong sliders, very competitive.
I do not believe that the level of difficulty can affect the frequency of cross or long shots of the cpu.
The game is updated 1.000.001 with Day One Patch
