Guys, I think it has to do with your manager prestige. You can't expect to take ofer Barcalona with half a star and get any leniency. Try setting the board difficulty to amateur.

Expect to get any leniency? LOL...I was 17-3-6. The fact that I had half a star shouldn't matter. I practically had to go undefeated...I won my last 4 matches in a row before I got fired.

I restarted with Galway United of Ireland [had to include my PRO in MM]
went 2-1-1 in the preseason. wont first two preseason games by a total of 5-1 then I lost 6-0 to Nancy (French side). I nearly upset Portsmouth. I was leading 1-0 and the announcers kept talking of a potential upset until John Utaka scored with literally the last kick of the game.

4 1/2 stars, I always invest heavily in scouting at the start. The 8-12 million you blow on that recoups itself right quick. The kid is an absolute beast, definitely La Liga material he's been MOM in every cap thus far so I'm expecting that 80 OVR to turn into something like an 85-86. It's almost unfair, I have yet to run into a striker in the Austrian Bundesliga that can outpace him.

Unbelievable, I just pulled in another fantastic youth defender, this one is an 82 OVR from France. Fantastic, I couldn't even pull in these types of players when I had a 5 star scouting at the Pool. If this keeps up I'll have an iron clad backline of players who will only get better.

How long did your scout take to get back? I sent my scout out one time and got impatient and recalled him so i didnt get any reports. I would try it again but i am playing as an MLS team and i dont have much money to spend.

I also use Galway but a big problem is the limited roster. I got an injury and had for forfeit because I didn't have enough players. I wonder what happens in the off season if I don't re-sign all my players. Do I get chance to pick up some other players to fill out my roster?

Yea im pretty sure they give u a chance to sign some players. This same thing happen to me but during the transfer period and I was asked if i wanted to go to transfer market and fill out my roster or forfeit the match for not having enough players.

2nd year, and my god the snow games look amazing! absent in the 1st season. I'm not talking about the little snow blotches on the field, I'm talking about the ENTIRE field covered in white!! Looks sooo awesome

Still in my first year with Watford I'm in 3rd and trail 1st by 9 pts and I am doing very good Ellington has been a stud for me with 6 goals my virtual pro has 6 as well. Low note is that I got knocked out of the League Cup by Swansea (who is in first in my league). I've been active in the transfer market as well, picked up Johnathan Bru, Ben Swallow, Victor Moses, Xavier Chavalerin, and Juan Ignacio Surraco. I've sold of 4 guys but I can't recall their names off the top off my head. Right now I'm wavering on getting rid of Don Cowie he makes 3 mil and I have a lot of middies I want to get on the field,what do you guys think?

Started one with Dortmund last night just to play around while waiting for the squad update with the new CTTs (although I may do one with Dortmund anyways). I was able to buy Di Maria (78 or 79 LM/LW) from Benfica for about 6M and wages around 11K/wk without issue. In fact, I only had to make one offer and he was not transfer listed.

Has anyone else noticed that player wages are WAY too low? I was trying to clear out some of my wage budget to make another signing, so I went into player contracts to see who was giving me the least bang for the buck. To my surprise, it looked like all my guys were making about the same -- roughly 6K (using euros).

I guess it's less of an issue if everyone is low to start (even playing field), but I hope players won't be expecting realistic wages when I sign them (50-100K for top leagues IRL). I didn't realize I signed Di Maria for almost double what all my other players are making until it was already complete...

By the way I started my manager mode with Fulham over the weekend

I am using the Custom tactics and it has completely changed the game.... I am loving it


With my Fulham team I have made no key signings besides signing a lw/lm out of South America who is currently a 77 overall..... My teams sits at 2-0-1 with wins over Tottenham and Portsmouth and a draw to Bolton

Tottenham- Was expecting to lose this game, but came out and got two early goals in the first 15 minutes and then dropped into a defensive formation and held on for the 2-1 win

Bolton- Again jumped out early in this game and had a 2-0 lead at half that could have easily been 3 or 4 nothing. 2nd half Bolton came out pressing and it felt like the life was sucked out of my team and I was just trying to hang on for dear life...... They scored 2 late goals, one right before the whistle in the 90th minute and we walked away disappointed in drawing this game

Portsmouth- A back and forth game in which both teams had some great chances. Goalie play kept this game 0-0 until the 88th minute when Dempsey found Anthony Johnson making a run down the right wing... Johnson then cut inside and slipped one inside the far post, giving Fulham the 1-0 win.

Now have games against Liverpool, Arsenal, and then a rematch vs. Bolton in a cup game

How do you sign a player that isn't on the transfer market

Hit Y to search; you can search by name or do a "detailed" search. I need a LM, so I filtered for MID/LM/OVR min of 75/max cost of 10M. It spit out a list, I chose a player, made an offer, and it was accepted.

Are the custom tactics for the other leagues outside the EPL pretty solid? or are you playing without them?

Well, you can't "play without them" as each team has a default set of tactics, so I'm not sure what you mean by that... I saw a real difference between my friendlies against two German teams and against Blackburn. The Rovers were set to "double" for aggression and man did it ever show. They were all over my guys, whereas the German teams were a bit more reasonable. However, I still feel most teams are too aggressive defensively by default.

I'm not sure what leagues have the "all 70s" tactics, aside from the lower English leagues. I'm just started a MM to play some games with my virtual pro (at RB) to get some attributes and pass the time until the squad update with the new tactics. I'll start a new one once it is released...

Oh, OK. No, I should've thought of that. I used custom tactics for AI teams in 09 by setting them up in the main menu team management screen for the majority of European teams. It was a real pain, but the game was more enjoyable.

I imagine the same thing applies this year, but I've avoided messing with the tactics for CPU teams to this point. If anything, I'll probably just edit AI tactics prior to the game by switching sides if necessary. But hopefully the EA update makes a noticeable difference and incorporates the community stuff you were referring to...

What currency are you using?

Either way, 6k (of most currencies) per week certainly isn't low. It's possibly even too high, if most players are on that wage.
